General Announcements

Today we will be celebrating Veteran’s Day.  In honor of the men and women who served or are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, Arapahoe will be recognizing their commitment and bravery all week next week. Please stop by the Military Wall of Honor and add the names of your friends or family members who have served or are serving in the armed forces on the Military Heritage Board designed by the Art department. This Friday, we will have veteran speakers in the forum all day speaking about their experiences. You are welcome to come to the forum during any of your unscheduled hours on Friday.

Hey Key Club! Don't forget about our meeting after school today in the Forum. We have some great events coming up.

YOU BETTER WATCH OUT, YOU BETTER NOT CRY, YOU BETTER NOT POUT, I’M TELLING YOU WHY…SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN.  Yes…Santa is coming to bring a new toy for each boy and girl at Valverde Elementary and the Denver Indian Health and Family Services Center.  Today is the kickoff for the AHS Toys for Tots. Join us by bringing a NEW toy to the Attendance Office.  Our goal is 1,000 toys.  We know Arapahoe can make it happen!  Let’s make this a special holiday for the kids.

Juniors and Seniors:  The college visit you have all been waiting for (that is CU Boulder!) is scheduled for Thursday, November 14 at 9 a.m. in the Forum. Bring questions for your CU rep, Ryan Kelley. See you then.

Café specials today:  Fazoli’s pasta plates and pizza.  Lunch today:  macaroni and cheese and chicken sandwich. 

Athletics

"Pink Cards" for Winter Sports will be distributed in the Cafeteria today, Tuesday, November 12th and Wednesday, November 13th during lunches.  Online registration must be completed and a current physical must be on file in the Athletic Office before student-athletes can receive their "Pink Card". Registration is completed online at www.ahswarriors.org.  Make sure to get your "Pink Card" by Wednesday, November 13th as that will be the first official day of Winter Sports practice. Please remember "no Pink Card - no practice”!

Attention all wrestlers...Practice will begin tomorrow.   Make sure you have your pink card. Practice begins at 2:37 p.m.

Attention AHS Baseball players and families. The next Baseball Booster Club meeting is tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. in the Forum. We'll mainly be discussing the upcoming winter workouts and strength and conditioning, but we'll also be awarding the prizes to the top Select Rewards Books sellers!!  Hunter Rynders, Justin Kuhl, Dean Burke, Matt Seiler, Trevor Johnson, Jacob Goodman, Tyler Aikens and Cody Peepgrass should all be in attendance.  See you Tuesday night!

Anyone interested in being a part of the 2014 Arapahoe Warrior track and field team should attend an informational meeting tomorrow at 2:30 in Room S14. We will be discussing the upcoming spring season as well as winter workouts and the indoor meet schedule. Come and be a part of the Arapahoe track family. If you are currently in a winter sport and unable to attend please see Coach Lienemann sometime before Thanksgiving.
