General Announcements

All lost and found items will be removed from the cafeteria tomorrow. Please check the table for your belongings.

  If you are applying for membership in National Honor Society, remember that applications are due today.  Please turn in your completed application, along with your $15 application fee, to Mrs. Kazakoff in the bookkeeping office, by 3pm at the absolute latest.

Hey Warriors!!! One of the most exciting events of the year is almost here. The annual DECA Dodgeball tournament is tomorrow from 6 to 9 pm in both gyms. This year's theme is "As Seen on TV" so come out and support your favorite TV shows and movies as they compete to become the 2016 Dodgeball Champions. Admission to this exciting event is only $3. See ya there Warriors!

Today, the Post Grad Center will host Notre Dame and Colorado College. On Wednesday, the Colorado State University visit will be held in the Forum. 

As you know Halloween is just around the corner, and falls on a school day this year.  While you ARE allowed to wear costumes at school, please remember that all dress code rules apply.  You may NOT wear masks, full face paint or carry any type of weapon.  As you may have guessed, you are also NOT allowed to wear clown costumes this year.  We will have some fun activities that occur during lunch, including a costume contest for prizes!  Please plan on participating - it will be spooktacular!! 

Hey Freshman! Join Link Crew on the lanes this Saturday, October 29th from 4-7 pm. Event will be held at the Arapahoe Bowling Center. See flyers and the flat screens for details!

Calling all poems, stories, and artwork! Students, submit your wonderful creations to the Muse Magazine by the end of this week to automatically enter yourself into a drawing for a $10 gift card.

Attention seniors:  The Daniels Fund Scholarship application is now open.  Are you a senior who demonstrates strength of character, leadership potential, community service, academic promise, and a well-rounded personality?  The Daniels Scholarship is a “last dollar” scholarship that will pay toward the remaining costs of a scholar’s education after all other grants and scholarships are applied. The scholarship is only awarded to students from our four-state area There is a need-based component to qualify. Stop by the Guidance office and see Mrs. Kostra for more information.  

Please check your school email account for surveys from the Calumet yearbook and The Herald magazine. The one from the Herald is about the presidential election and the one from the yearbook is for sophomores, juniors and seniors. We want your input!

Congratulations to AHS student journalists. Last week they attended the state convention and brought back several awards, including a top award for the yearbook and a first place / best in the state award for the student-produced website, ArapahoeXtra.com!

Are you interested in a career in the sports industry?   If so, there will be a presentation about careers in sports and how to get into the industry during 4th and 5th period this Thursday in the forum.  For more information, please see Mr. Sawyer in the Business Department.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas; at least it is in the AHS theatre. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at lunch for The Pageant Plays, put on the AHS Drama Club. Tickets are $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. The performances are November 3rd through 5th at 7:00 pm. Can't wait until tomorrow?
