*WARRIORS - Saturday, November 11th is Veterans Day. This week, Arapahoe recognizes and remembers Veterans whose courage continues to protect the freedoms and values of the American people. In the words of American journalist Elmer Davis, “This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” Regardless of the day, always share your thanks with the men and women of our Armed Forces. Arapahoe supports all veterans and all future men/women who have and will one day protect our great nation.
*COME ONE, COME ALL - to the 13th Annual LPS Poetry Slam TONIGHT at Options High School at 6:30pm. Join us to celebrate student voice and creativity through slam poetry. The event will not be live streamed so come join us in person!
*We NEED YOU Warriors - we’ve recently replaced our irrigation system and we need you to stay on the sidewalks to protect our grass and keep mud out of the school. We really appreciate your help!
*Hey Warriors, are you interested in being part of something this Winter? LPS has a wonderful opportunity for you! LPS Combined Winter Guard is having an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 8th from 6:00pm-7:30pm in the AHS Band Room. It's a great opportunity to meet friends, be active, and do something fun! See you there.
*If you're planning to apply for financial aid or scholarships to help pay for college, don't miss TONIGHT’S sensational production of "FINANCIAL AID NIGHT" presented by Chico Dimas of DU's Financial Aid Office and Arapahoe's own Mr. Lewis! The show starts at 6:30pm in the Forum!
*Hey Warriors - AHS's UNIFIED Basketball season is about to start and we are seeking Peer Coaches for the season. Come to the Peer Coaches’ meeting TODAY after school in room E1275 in the Center based classroom. Come check it out. If you can’t attend please reach out to Mrs. Rooney.
*Warriors, this is the last week for the Annual Food Drive! Please help by donating non-perishable food, toiletries and cash donations for the Field Elementary Food Bank. You will have until this Friday, November 10th. Bring your donations to your Tribe classroom or drop them in any of the yellow boxes you see around the school. The Tribe that collects the most donations will win a bagel party! There will also be a donation drop off time for the COMMUNITY in the bus loop on Saturday, November 11th from 9:00am - 12 noon.
Athletics
*Congratulations to the AHS Varsity Cheerleading team for their third place finish at their ‘Rock the Mat’ competition this past weekend and JV’s first place finish. Come out this Wednesday, November 8th to support your Cheer teams at their League competition at Eaglecrest High School.
*ATTENTION ABK GIRLS: If you are interested in playing soccer in the spring please come to a preseason meeting after school on Thursday, November 9th in the tiered classroom, E1287. If you are unable to attend please reach out to Coach Hayes.
*Warriors - all girls planning to play basketball this coming season please plan to attend this week's preseason Camp from 6:00pm-8:00pm in both gyms. See you there!
*Come out and cheer on your Warrior Football team as they take on Chatfield in the 2nd round of state playoffs on Friday, November 10th at 7:00pm at LPS Stadium. Student Athletic Passes can’t be used for playoff games. Tickets can be purchased at GoFan.co
*Warriors - join us on Thursday, November 16th from 6:00pm-9:30pm for our FIRST Annual Boys Basketball Crosstown Throwdown. We are joining up with Heritage for a night of fun skill competitions, a staff game, a unified game and a dunk contest with celebrity judges! Bring your family and dinner (OR purchase at concessions), and have some fun while supporting the Arapahoe Boys Basketball team! Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults and will be sold during lunches on Monday, November 6th and Wednesday the 8th!
