Hey Arapahoe!  Having those post-holiday blues?  Well, snap out of them by attending the 2006 Winter Dance!!  It will be held Saturday, January 21st from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. in the AHS Cafeteria.  This year’s theme is “A Night at the Grammys.”  Tickets will go on sale beginning today during each lunch in the cafeteria.  You will want to buy your tickets in advance for only $10/person because the price will increase that night at the door to $15/person.  And, this is that special dance of the year where the ladies get to ask the gentlemen!  Don’t forget . . . The 2006 Winter Dance “A Night at the Grammys” coming your way January 21st.

Warriors!  Here is some important information you need to know if you plan to attend the Winter Dance next Saturday, January 21st.  First, this dance is semi-formal in attire.  Therefore, you will not be permitted in the door wearing jeans, shorts, or other attire that is inconsistent with the AHS dress code.  Also, only sophomores, juniors and seniors that are current Arapahoe students will be permitted to bring outside guests.  Forms for these guests are due no later than, Thursday, January 19th, at 3:00 p.m. and are available in the Guidance Center from Mrs. Sisler.  No middle school students will be permitted to attend.  We greatly appreciate your support on these issues!

Attention Warriors!! This week and this week only the DECA store is having a major sale on clothing. Catch the hottest styles that Arapahoe has to offer. Come in and enjoy most of your favorite candy which is 2 for $1 for this week only. This promises to be one of the biggest sales the store has ever offered.  So hurry into the DECA store and catch the fever…. The spring FEVER!!!!!!!

Late breaking news from the Post Grad Center! Eight junior students are the lucky winners of a Chipotle or a Starbucks gift certificate!  Their names were entered in a drawing when they attended their planning appointment first semester.  The lucky winners are: Sara Healy, Matthew Everist, Morgan Johnson, Rick Deming, Kate Nixon, Emily Mitchell, Samantha Ginsburg and Shawn Belland. Congratulations!  Winners, please claim your certificate in the Post Grad Center by Monday, 1/23.

PLAN test results are in!  If you took the PLAN test, you can pick up your results in the Guidance Office.

An admissions representative from the University of Denver will be here at Arapahoe to meet with interested students on Thursday, January 19 at 8:30 am.  Sign up in the Guidance Center.

Congratulations to the following students for earning a perfect score on the recent Continental Euclidean Geometry Competition:  Ryan Beckett, Patrick Wyman and Spencer Zepelin.

Sophomore and Juniors: Come to the Post Grad Center to check out summer internship and leadership program opportunities.

Attention all FCCLA members:  Today we will have a very important meeting immediately after school in room E2.  We will be discussing district conference, state conference, chocolate sales, and our spring community service project.  Please plan to attend this very important meeting.  New members are welcome as well.

Tonight is a terrific evening of Jazz at the Hudson Gardens Event Center.  Our talented Jazz Ensemble I and The Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs will be featured!  Tickets are just $5.00, and the music starts at 7pm.  Tickets can be purchased today at the Band Office, or from any Jazz I student.  Or you can buy your ticket tonight, at the door.  This performance will be a preview of the band's upcoming feature concert at the Colorado Music Educators Convention, at The Broadmoor Hotel this Thursday!  Hudson Gardens is located in Littleton on S. Santa Fe Dr. & W. Maplewood Ave.

Lost and Found will be in the cafeteria today and tomorrow.  Please check for any items that you may have lost.   Items that are not picked up by the end of the day tomorrow will be donated.

Good morning, Musers!  Welcome back to spring semester!  We need to see you tomorrow after school in our usual room, to finish up our decision-making for this year’s Muse magazine!  Rumor has it there may be PIZZA at this meeting!  We need to work on final choices for the magazine selections, and plan for our SHOWCASE night.  We need EVERYBODY there! 


Athletics

Attention All Wrestlers, Today is picture day.  Make sure you have your singlet and shoes here.  Pictures will be right after school in the wrestling room.

Attention girls soccer players, there will be no indoor practice this week at the Family Sports Dome bubble, we will begin on next Tuesday.  There will be a brief meeting tomorrow in room N5 after school on Wednesday, January 18; so please bring your checks if you have not already done so.

Attentions swimmers: Meet lineups with changes and additions are posted on the pool windows. Also, practice immediately after school today if you are not in the meet.

Young Republican Warriors, there will be a meeting tomorrow after school in room C-26.

Come to the Spanish Club meeting Wednesday, January 18 at 2:30 in C21.   We will have snacks and drinks and música.  No Spanish is required so bring your friends!
