Congratulations to the Special Olympics basketball team for celebrating a victory in their last home game last night. In a game that was dedicated to student Taylor Atkinson, who is in New York in a hospital and very sick, the Warriors defeated the Littleton Hawks 66-60. The Warriors did an outstanding job of playing team ball and exemplifying what Warrior pride is all about. Brady Hammond showcased superb sportsmanship, while others such as Justin Simmons and Nick Gonzalez showed off scoring and passing talents. Christy Nelson and Kevin Stone moved the ball around to help others score and play their best. Andrew Carlson scored multiple three pointers to ignite the home crowd. Tyler Clyatt played aggressive on defense as always. Mercedes Acosta and Billy Williams played the kind of solid all around games that the fans have come to expect from them. The Warriors next game is on Mon. Feb 27 at 7p.m. at Littleton High School we hope to enjoy the continued support of our outstanding fans that we have had travel with us to these next few away games. Please come out, there are only a couple of more chances to catch the most spirited team at Arapahoe in action. The partner players do an incredible job of helping and announcing and cheering and pretty much doing whatever it takes to support our team. Partners also please check in with Mrs. Pepe in S6 as soon as possible about playing in the Championship tournament.
