General Announcements

Hey singers, dancers, comedians, musicians, and other talented students! The homecoming talent show auditions are on September 13th and 14th. Get your acts together now and sign up for a try out time in the main office. MC’s are needed as well as acts, too! Good Luck!

Hey juniors! Do you want to be a part of the junior class skit in the Homecoming talent show? Come to room E4, today, Sept. 12th after school. Make sure to bring a yellow t-shirt.

Homecoming royalty nominations will take place during both lunches today and tomorrow, Sept. 12 and 13th. Students must show ID.

Hey Pride Tribers! Get your t-shirt money and size to Ms. Durow as soon as possible. We will be putting the order in this Friday. Also, don’t forget tonight’s boy’s soccer game versus Chaparral HS at 4:00pm at AHS. Come support your fellow Warriors!

Hey class of 2010!!! We had a great meeting for our parade float this past Saturday but we still need your help. Let’s meet tomorrow morning at 7:00am in room S-8 to make this the best float ever. Hope to see you there!

Where can you find ice cream flavors like sweet cream and cotton candy with mix-ins like apple pie filling, brownies and graham cracker pie crust? The Coldstone near Park Meadows, that’s where! Come and support the Arapahoe Choir and Orchestra with a purchase from Coldstone tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13th from 6:30 – 8:30 and identify your purchase for the fundraiser by saying: “I’m with the Arapahoe Choir and Orchestra!” Don’t forget, Wednesday night at the Park Meadow’s Coldstone.

Have you ever thought about trying something but never really followed through with your idea? Maybe something like rock climbing or canoeing or kickboxing? Then the new Extreme Sport Warriors club might just be for you. Arapahoe has never offered a club like this before, so now is the perfect opportunity to fulfill your dream in experiencing a new kind of outdoor activity or sharing your love of extreme sports with other Warriors. We are looking for experienced and non-experienced sportsmen to join us in Room C-22 THIS Wednesday, September 13th right after school. Don’t forget to bring your ideas and experience!

Attention Arapahoe Warriors!! DECA is sponsoring a school wide Dodgeball Tournament Wednesday, Sept. 20th from 6 – 9 pm. Make your own ten person teams, $1 per player. Sign up in the cafeteria during lunch starting this Thursday and get your game on!!

Library Overdue and Fines: Please take the time to check the Library Overdue lists located on the bulletin boards in the north and south hallways and in the library. Check periodically to make sure that you don’t have a fine or overdue book. These lists are updated weekly. Thanks Warriors!

Athletics

Registration for the Arapahoe Girls Swim/Dive Team is today, September 12 at 7pm in the cafeteria. New swimmers and freshmen, please arrive at 6:30 in room C1 for a brief meeting. Our team, swim suit, sweats, shorts, t-shirts, etc. will be available to try on. Coaches and booster club volunteers will be available to answer all your questions.

Attention all varsity tennis team members: today’s practice will not start until 3:20 pm. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Attention AHS Girls' Lax Players: South Suburban Fall Ball begins this Saturday, September 16th. You will be contacted by one of the captains to let you know if you are on the Gold Team or the Black Team. Please visit the South Suburban website for game schedules. See you Saturday!

Congratulations to the varsity girls’ softball team on their 6 to 3 victory over Douglas County yesterday. It was the first time in school history that the softball team has defeated Douglas County. Leading the lady warriors were Carrie Rubida with a single, double and a triple for four runs batted in, Brittany Bouque with two hits and a run batted in, and Danielle Archuleta with two hits and seven strike-outs pitching for the win. Way to make history ladies!

Congratulations to the Freshmen “B” football team for its 22-0 victory over Thunder Ridge yesterday. Great job guys! Touchdowns were scored by Jacob Childers and Aaron Duarte. The Defense was awesome!
