The speech and debate team will hold its weekly meeting today in Room C15 at 2:30. Current and prospective members should plan to be there as we will be preparing for our first tournament at Regis on October 8th.

The speech and debate team will hold its weekly meeting tomorrow in Room C15 at 2:30. Current and prospective members should plan to be there as we will be preparing for our first tournament at Regis on October 8th.
It’s that time of year for eligible juniors and seniors to start applying for membership in National Honor Society! If you are a junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, or a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, then you are eligible to apply for membership. Eligible students should be receiving a letter at their home address, inviting them to join and also explaining the application process. If your GPA makes you eligible for NHS, but you haven’t received a letter at home, please contact Mr. Smith or Mrs. Wayman in the science office. This letter also tells you about important informational meetings going on this week. If you are applying for membership in NHS, you must attend one of these meetings to learn about the club and the application process. There are four meetings being held for you to choose from: Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 6:55 in room W-103, and Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at 2:20 in room W-103. Remember that these meetings are only for eligible juniors and seniors, so if you are unsure whether you are eligible, please contact Mr. Smith or Mrs. Wayman in the science office.

And of course, the Disney/Pixar Presents: Arapahoe Homecoming Dance is TOMORROW in the main gym from 8-11 p.m. Today is the last day to buy tickets for $10 during lunch, or you can buy them for $15 at the door! Don’t forget, dress is semi-formal. Students wearing jeans or not appropriately dressed will not be permitted to attend the dance. Tomorrow is also the Homecoming Parade at 10 a.m. in the West Lot. Congratulations to the Freshmen Football team for another exciting win yesterday defeating Overland 24-12. The win was a total team effort and allowed the Freshmen team to remain undefeated on the year with a 4 and 0 record. Thanks for all that came out and supported the team. The Freshmen will take on Heritage next Thursday at 4:00 at Heritage. Come out and support your Freshmen Warriors.

Congratulations to the Freshmen football team for their exciting 21-20 "come from behind" victory yesterday over Palmer. The win was a total TEAM effort that pushes the team's season record to 2 and 0. The freshmen also beat Rangeview the previous week 20-12. The Freshmen play next Saturday a morning at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins. Great job Freshmen!

Hey Juniors! Do you want to help build the junior class float? On Saturday, September 10 and 17, the junior class is meeting at Stacey Lukasieiwcz's house to start the construction of the junior class float for the homecoming parade. All juniors are welcome! Contact Stacey Lukasiewicz or one of the junior class officers for more information.
Attention Seniors: Your Senior Class Panoramic Picture will be taken Thursday, September 8th at 7:50am. Remember, this is the only time a Senior Class Picture will be taken for the rest of your life, so Don’t Miss Out! You only have one chance to be a part of this special event, so be there on Thursday, September 8th.
HEEEEEEEY WARRIORS!! The all school varsity tailgate is THIS FRIDAY September 9th!! Join LINK CREW outside by the track at 4 o’clock!! Bring 3 dollars and you’ll get a high quality hot dog, crunchy chips, a delicious can of soda and a COOKIE!! Face Paint and hair dye will be provided! All students attending will get a FREE ride over to LPS stadium to root on the Warriors!! But, you MUST GET YOUR OWN RIDE HOME. Once again, we provide a free ride to the game, but you need to GET YOUR OWN RIDE HOME! This is an event you do NOT want to miss! See you there!

Auditions for the fall play are right around the corner. If you would like to audition for The People vs. Maxine Lowe be sure to sign up for a time on the call board outside Mr. Ahern’s office in the drama hallway. Auditions are Tuesday September 6th and Wednesday September 7th. For more information, see Mr. Ahern or go to his teacher page on the AHS website. Break a leg!

Congrats to the freshman and varsity volleyball teams for their wins over Heritage last night. Varsity battled to five games and came away with an exciting victory. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the team. The Warriors play their first home game next week Wednesday against #1 ranked Chaparral.
