General Announcements

Congratulations to team Australia, the 2014 DECA dodgeball champions. After a subpar performance in last year's tournament, the team returned on a mission. Good job Australia! And a big thanks to all the teams, coaches, refs, and all the fans that came out to support the tournament.

Hey Warriors!  Only two days left to bring in canned food for the food drive!  Let's support Field Elementary and get donating!!!!

“When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.”
Friday will be a “spooktacular day”!  All Hallow’s Eve will be a day full of viewing creative costumes and participating in holiday activities.  There will be a “Candy Cornhole Challenge” held during both lunches in the cafeteria.  Students may sign up for this exciting activity today during both lunches. One lucky winner from each grade level will receive a special prize for their participation in the challenge. Please keep in mind that the LPS District Dress Code will be enforced for this holiday.  No masks or hooded costumes and all face paint must be kept to a minimum – we must be able to recognize you!  BE POSITIVELY CREATIVE keeping in mind others feelings…
“When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam,
May luck be yours on Halloween.”

If you are interested in signing up for FBLA and have not yet done so, please come to the business office to pick up an application today.  All FBLA applications are due tomorrow.

Sophomores, if you registered to take the Aspire test, it will be taking place this Saturday, November 1! Please note that the classroom assignments have changed, so you will need to check the classroom assignment list, which will be posted in the cafeteria tomorrow. On Saturday you need to arrive by 7:30 a.m. and enter the building through the east entrance. Remember to bring two #2 pencils, a calculator, and your student ID.

Attention Seniors, CMAS Testing is next week.  All room assignments are posted on the Security Office window.  Please check your assignments.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Scoglio in the Attendance Office.

Once again it’s time for the annual Halloween candy jar count in the Library!!  Come down to the library and guess how many Halloween candies are in the glass jar!  The student who comes the closest to the actual amount will win the jar full of candy!  Only one guess per day, please.  The winner will be announced on Halloween during the daily announcements. Happy Halloween from your AHS Library staff!
You can now reserve the Group Study Rooms in the Library in advance online. Visit the AHS website and click on the link under the Library tab to check out the calendars to see when they're available, and then fill out the Google Form to request a room.  You can still reserve them in person at the circulation desk and, even if you reserve a room online, you'll still need to check in at the circulation desk when you arrive to use your room.

Does a steaming hot burrito from Chipotle sound good right now?  For this week only, if you submit prose, poetry, or artwork to the Muse magazine, your name will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Chipotle gift card!  Check the Muse web page for how to submit--and stay hungry, Arapahoe!

Lost and Found:  Please check the table in the cafeteria for clothing items and the Attendance Office for smaller items.  After Friday all items will be donated.
