General Announcements

Hello Warriors!  We are extremely proud to announce the names of the semifinalists in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.  These students are honored for their outstanding performance on the 2014 PSAT which they took last October.  The semifinalists are:  Atlee Witt and Zachary Woosley.  If you see these seniors in class or in the halls, please congratulate them.  Great job Warriors!  

ATTENTION SENIORS: Don’t miss being in your Senior Class Photo! tomorrow, September 15-First Period in the Main Gym. All Seniors should be there.  Don’t miss being in the picture! (For seniors wishing to order a photo of the class, order forms will be available at the time the photo is taken.)

There will be a brief meeting tomorrow after school for all returning Arapahoe TSA members that are interested in being on the TSA Leadership Team for this 2015/16 school year. Please plan on meeting Tuesday, Sept 15 in Room E6 from 2:25-3:00.  See Mr. McMullen for questions.

Have you taken 3 business classes?  Application forms for the National Business Honor Society are due today! Please stop by the business department to pick up an application.  

Attention students interested in the GSA Club:  Due to a district meeting we need to reschedule our first GSA Club meeting.  Please plan on attending the first GSA Club meeting on Tuesday, September 29th in room E-5!  Hope to see you there!

Interested in getting more involved in your community? Join Key Club, a community service based club. We meet every Monday after school in Room N2, starting today. Come check it out, it's not too late to join!

Hey Warriors! Got Talent?! If so, then plan to come September 21st for tryouts showcasing your skills! Be prepared to show what talent you got! Sign up for a time in the Main Office starting September 14!

Attention Seniors!  A Boettcher representative will be presenting information on applying for this prestigious scholarship this Thursday during both lunches.  Please bring your lunch to the Forum if you are thinking of applying for this scholarship.   The Boettcher Foundation aims to keep Colorado's best and brightest in the state for undergraduate studies by offering a full ride to 42 winners across the state.  Come and check it out on Thursday!

Athletics

Congrats to the boys and girls cross country teams for great performances at the Liberty Bell on Friday. All members of the girls varsity team ran personal best times and ended up in 9th place in a very tough field. Stephen Goldy set a new senior AHS record and Tyler Ervin set a new freshman AHS record during the varsity boys race. The boys varsity team ended up in first place atop some of the best teams in the state!

Congratulations to the Warrior football teams for a complete sweep of the Doherty Spartans Varsity 7-6, JV 35-12 and the Freshman 34-12. Good Luck this week against Grandview!

Saturday’s third and final day of the Warrior Invitational Tournament wrapped up with a victory for the Arapahoe Varsity in a strong all-around performance against Prairie View High School. Goals were scored by Jacob Draudt, Ethan Fahn, Chris Grauberger, Sam Norman, Wilmer Ramirez, Dylan Van Denend, and Tommy  Warden. And a special congratulations to the Arapahoe JV team as they won the Junior Varsity Championship game against Hinkley by a score of 3-1! Thanks to everyone for your support of the Warriors during the tournament.

Congrats to the JV softball team for defeating Lincoln High School on Saturday. It was a very exciting game in which the Warriors pulled off the 12 to 11 victory in the last inning with 2 outs. The JV and Varsity softball teams are back in action today at Bear Creek. Good Luck Warriors!
