General Announcements
*Juniors and Seniors! Fall semester college visits wrap up this week. Tomorrow, AHS will host Saint Louis University, the University of Idaho, the University of Northern Colorado, and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Sign up in Naviance to reserve your spot or cancel your reservation if you can no longer attend.
*Sophomores: If you have missed your previously scheduled Naviance appointment, please go to the library at the start of your off hours on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday this week to see if you can make up your appointment.
*Juniors and Seniors: are you interested in competing in athletics at the college level? If so, there will be an NCAA/NAIA eligibility information meeting in the forum on Tuesday, November 19th during both lunches. Feel free to bring your lunch.
*Hey everyone! It's not too late to join The Technology Student Association or "TSA". TSA is for students who want to take their interest in STEM, Technology, and Engineering one step further, have fun, meet new people, and perhaps get the chance to travel along the way. Students work individually or in teams in such areas as biotechnology, coding, dragster design, flight challenge, film technology, CAD, desktop publishing, extemporaneous speaking, structural engineering, and many more. Please come to the next TSA meeting this Wednesday, November 13th @ 3:35- 4:00 in Room E1287. See you there!
*Seniors! Do you have a December 1st college application deadline? If so, blue forms are due by the end of the day Tuesday, November 12. Blue Forms can be turned in during both lunches on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. See the counselors at the transcript table outside the bookkeeping office.
*Calling all Sources of Strength Peer Leaders...we will be having a meeting on Wednesday, Nov 13th in the forum starting at 8:50 AM. Please come and hear about our next campaign for Thankfulness and Trusted Adults. See you then!
*Free Alive@25 class is Tuesday, November 12th 3:45 PM - 8:15 PM in room
W1874. If you are voluntarily taking the class the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 fee. If you are 15 1/2 you can get drivers permit after taking the class and many insurance companies give you a discount. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Sign up on-line at www.aliveat25.us. To register for the class the password is "arapahoe". Any questions ask Deputy Englert.
*The Swim Waiver will be given for current AHS, HHS,LHS students at Arapahoe High School on Thursday, November 21st at 7:00 AM. The test/waiver will take approximately 1 hour. This is the only test for the 1st semester 2019 school year for current students. This is the ONLY Swim Waiver Seniors may take. If seniors do not take and pass this test, they will be enrolled in swimming 2nd semester. Students must email Mrs. Leyden to sign up for the waiver. Space is limited.
Athletics
*Our Varsity Volleyball Team lost a tough 5 set match to Denver East and lost to Chaparral in three sets at Regionals on Saturday. We played some of our best ball the last ten matches of the season going .500. Go Warriors! Uniforms will be turned in today after school in the cafeteria for JV and Varsity.
*Congratulations to our Football Warriors on winning their playoff game Friday against Castle View 17-7. They advance to the next round of playoffs against Rallston Valley this Friday, November 15 at 7:30 at NAAC (North Area Athletic Complex) in Arvada (19500 W 64th Pkwy, Arvada, CO 80403).
*Your Arapahoe Cheerleading program had an amazing weekend! They competed in the Mile High Regional Championships in Denver. Varsity took 2nd place in both their traditional and game day routines, and JV received 4th place in their division! Come out and support, we only have a couple more local competitions! Varsity will showcase their skills this Saturday at South High School, time TBA. JV will compete at the JV Invitational on Saturday, November 23rd. Go Warriors!!
*Anyone interested in being a part of the 2020 Arapahoe Warrior track and field team should attend an informational meeting today at 3:40 in Room W1529. We will be discussing the upcoming spring season as well as winter workouts and the indoor meet schedule. Come and be a part of the Arapahoe track family. If you are unable to attend please see Coach Lienemann sometime before the end of the week.
*If you are interested in participating in unified basketball this year, please join us for a student meeting after school on Tuesday, November 19th in Room E1275 until 4:00 PM. If you cannot make it but would like to be involved, please visit Mrs. Rooney or Ms. Sanders for more information.
