General Announcements

*Computer Science Club will be meeting tomorrow in the computer science room for our first session of prep for Lockheed Martin CodeQuest! If you're interested in joining a team for the competition, please attend the meeting tomorrow! See you there!

*The AHS Spanish Honors Society Miguel de Cervantes is participating in the Pulsera Project and selling bracelets during first and second lunch for $5 this week and the week of Valentine’s Day. Please come support artists in Nicaragua and Guatemala and purchase one of these beautiful bracelets. ¡Muchas gracias!

*The east bubble door and the north forum doors will open at 6:30 PM tonight for College Night.  Please allow time for parking and to get to your first session location on time. Sessions will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.  

*Students!  It’s Military Monday - a Navy recruiter will be in the cafeteria during both lunches today.

*The Spring Swim Waiver test registration is now open for current students who are interested in testing out of the required Swim course. Current students can find the registration link on the AHS website. The test will take place on Thursday, March 12th at 7:00 AM and the registration link will be open from now until March 3rd or when all spots are filled. Sign up today to take the swim waiver test.

*Hey Juniors, register this week for the March SAT exam.  Go to the College Board website to register by this Friday, February 14th.  This particular test allows you to also register for the Question & Answer Service, which lets you know exactly which questions/concepts you missed.  Be sure to check it out, this service is only offered on the March, May, and October test dates.
  
*Attention all G/T students! Already feeling stressed with your second semester work? Are the winter doldrums bringing you down? We've got just the solution! Come join us in the library for an afternoon of relaxation, community, and fun this Wednesday, February 12 from 3:45-4:30. We will have activities and snacks to provide you some escape from the stresses of school. Hope to see you there!

*Need a fun date for Valentines Day? Come to the Vocal Music's Valentines "Day" Cabaret on February 13th! This will include a fun night filled with performances from students and well as the auditioned choirs. Tickets are available now and all proceeds go to AWVM. Athletics    

*Your LPS Hockey team celebrated another victory on Saturday night over Chatfield with a score of 6-1. The team is currently ranked 1st in their conference and 3rd in the state. This Thursday they play an important conference match-up against Columbine at home  at 7:50pm. Please come out to cheer the team on!!

*Congratulations to our Varsity Toms on their recent National Dance Competition performances in Orlando, FL. The team competed on January 31st and February 1st with their best jazz and pom performances of the season! Their pom routine advanced to semi-finals where they competed among the top 25 medium pom high school teams in the nation! Way to represent Colorado and Arapahoe High School, Varsity Toms! We are so proud of your hard work and accomplishments this year !
