General Announcements

Today is Veterans' Day, and we welcome veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the current conflict in Afghanistan to AHS.  Originally known as Armistice Day, this holiday first commemorated the victory in WWI.  In 1954, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans' Day, a fitting tribute to all the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces.  To further honor those veterans in your life and to show our support for their dedication and sacrifice for our country; please write their name on our Veteran’s wall poster located just outside the leadership office.  If you know what branch of the military that they served please add that as well.  Thank you!!

Students:  Here is some very important information to write down in your student planner.    The Tuesday before Thanksgiving break (NOVEMBER 22ND) you will go to your Thursday classes and NOT your Tuesday classes.

Students – Arena Scheduling is next week.   Seniors will be scheduling on Tuesday, November 15 after school.   The juniors, and sophomores will be scheduling on Wednesday, November 16.   Remember – there are NO classes on Wednesday.  Arena Scheduling begins at 7:30 that morning.   Please stop by the Guidance Center or the Attendance office if you do not know what time you schedule.   Thanks!

Today is the final day that lost and found items will be in the cafeteria.   Please check to see if you have any items on the table.   Any items not picked up by today will be donated.

Attention all students ... Current fees and fines lists are being updated regularly from bookkeeping and are posted outside of the bookkeeping office and on the leadership window in the cafeteria.  You will not be allowed to participate in arena scheduling until all fees and fines are paid or cleared.  We are posting fines on a daily basis and will continue to do so through this afternoon.  Your schedule will be pulled today, if you have an outstanding balance on your account, you will not be allowed to participate in arena scheduling until your account is clear.  All course fees, athletic fees and activity fees were invoiced and due, payable in full by October 31st.  All textbook, parking, athletic and supply fines must be paid in the bookkeeping office.  Thank You.

CHECK THOSE LIBRARY FINE LISTS!
Do you have overdue library books or fines and haven’t taken care of them?
You have until noon today, November 11th, to clear your fines. If you wait, your registration card will be held.  Check the fine lists, located on the student bulletin boards in the north and south hallways and in the library.  DON”T LET A FINE KEEP YOU FROM REGISTERING ON TIME!  Library fines must be paid in the library.

I’ve figured it out!  A literary magazine needs…you got it!  Submissions!  Hey all of you writers and artists out there, we need submissions from you!  The only way we can create the Muse of Arapahoe is through your pieces.  It’s your chance to get published.  Just go on line to Arapahoe’s website and click on the Muse website to submit, or there are submission forms in the Art and English offices, and the library.  Submit today!
