General Announcements

It is November 28th and the toy drive has started.  We have 50 toys in the attendance office. We need 950 more toys!  We want to bring lots of smiles to the boys and girls of Fletcher Elementary.  If you want to help, please bring a new toy to the Attendance Office by December 9th.  With your help we can make this happen!!

Tickets are now on sale for Jazz I and The Dry Creek Dixie Dawgs’ performance at Dazzle’s Jazz Club in Downtown Denver, on Monday, December 5th.  Professional Jazz Vocalist, Barbara Paris will be singing with Jazz I, and the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra will perform following Arapahoe’s set.  Performances start at 7pm, and the cost is just $10, which will get you into the Dec. 5th event, as well as a future Dazzle’s jazz concert.  Tickets are now available from any Jazz I student, or they can also be purchased in the Band Office.

FBLA members,   today, November 28th is the LAST day for you to sign up and pay for competitions. Come to our meeting today to turn in paperwork, money and to get your T Shirt!

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected to sing in the 2006 Colorado All State Choir: Kristen Anderson, Brett Evans, Brent Ludwig, David Sabey and Stephanie Zepelin. The festival is held in Fort Collins in February.

Attention mathematicians!! The next Colorado Math League competition is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th. We had record high scores last month! Thanks for your efforts in keeping Arapahoe one of the top schools in this competition! Go Arapahoe!!

Attention National Honor Society Members! Volunteers are needed to assist with the NHS induction ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, November 29. Please attend a short meeting today, Nov. 28, in room E-5 at 2:30 p.m. to sign up to assist and receive service hours.

Attention new NHS members. Remember to attend the mandatory rehearsal Tuesday, November 29, after school at 2:15 p.m. in the theater. See you then!

Attention all FCCLA members:  Don’t forget your meeting this afternoon in room E3 at 2:30.  This is a mandatory meeting for all officers and members.  We will be covering information for state conference and will be having a special guest speaker.  Please be prompt and ready to go at 2:30 this afternoon in room E3.  See you there!

Congratulations to Sean Kenney for receiving the DAR Award for Arapahoe High School.  Sean automatically receives 25 dollars and a nice luncheon for himself and his family.  Sean also will be taking a two hour essay exam and will be competing for additional scholarship money. 

Athletics

Pre-season track workouts will begin today in the weight room at 2:30.  Anyone that is not currently in a winter sport is welcome to join us.  We will be lifting Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will have track workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  If you have any questions please see coach Lienemann or coach Nelson.

Attention Young Democrats, there is a meeting today in room C6 after school to make final plans for the debate Wednesday.  Everybody show up. 

Attention Bowling Club Members: Due to a schedule conflict, there will NOT be a meeting this Wednesday. BUT, please mark on your calendar that we will be meeting for the Yearbook Club Photo in Room E-8 at 3:30 pm on December 5. See you there.
