General Announcements

Would you like to pay off that library fine and at the same time donate to the Bronco Wives Food Drive? How do you ask!? Now until Wednesday October 18th you will receive a .25 credit off your fine balance for every non perishable food donation you bring into the library. To ensure that you receive credit toward your fine, personally hand your donation to any of the library staff members. Help yourself while you help others.

Hey Key Club! Come today, after school in room C16 to sign up for Trick or Treat Street and other great community service opportunities!

Attention all Art Club members! Don't forget our meeting today, in Room E11. Exciting things are going on. Also, you may paint a bowl for Amnesty for $5.00. See you today after school!!!!

Hey everyone! Today is the last day to buy a raffle ticket to be entered to win a 30-pound box of candy. Tickets are only $1 and can be bought during both lunches. All money raised will help Mrs. Krueger’s 6th period Intro. to Business class start up their own business. The drawing will take place today during 2nd lunch and the winner will be announced during tomorrow’s announcements. Don’t miss out, buy a ticket!

Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band for placing 1st and being named the grand champion band at the New Friendship Cup band competition on Saturday! At prelims, our band scored a season high 87points!! Arapahoe won the best music, best effect, and best color guard caption awards!! We also scored over 90 points in 3 music categories!! In the finals show, the Warrior Band won the best music and best effect awards. Another box 5, over 90 point score was achieved in music - general effect. Arapahoe's percussion section placed second in the finals competition! Way to go Warrior Band!!!!

Hey Community Service just ‘Cause members! If you’re interested in volunteering at an elementary school this Thursday the 19th, meet right after school this Wednesday October 18th, in room C19 to sign up.

The PLAN test will be given on October 28, 2006 at Arapahoe High School from approximately 8:00-11:00 am. Interested Sophomores should sign up for the PLAN test in the post graduate center. The test costs $20. Deadline for registering for the PLAN is October 26, 2006.

Attention all FCCLA members: Don’t forget our meeting today right after school in the foods room. We need to finish up our dog biscuit baking for the Maxfund animal shelter and have a short meeting to plan our ice cream social. See you there this afternoon!

Hey FBLA MEMBERS!!!! Today, Monday the 16th, we have a meeting in S1 after school! We will be wrapping the goody bags for Children's Hospital so come because we need all of your help. You are also now able to sign up for competition and don't forget your forms! Remember that we are going to the corn maze on October 28th at 7pm and you can bring friends. See you in after school!

Attention all Girls Lacrosse players! Winter-ball, session 1 is here! The registration deadline came up sooner than we expected. It is Wednesday, October 18th. We would really like to get a team together, so everyone who can participate sign up!

Congratulations to the Freshmen Black on a great tournament, Saturday at AHS. Freshmen Black received 2nd place, you really played awesome girls. Also, a big THANKS to the rest of the Arapahoe Volleyball Teams for your help. You really made the tournament a big success.

CONTINENTAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS – FRIDAY Oct. 13, 2006
What a spectacular performance by the Lady Warrior Cross Country Team placing FIRST with a low score of 64 points. The Boys also had a great day of running placing 6th in this 14 team meet. The boys scored 161 points. Girls JV Team scored 43 points for a 2nd place finish, the Boys JV Team placed 3rd with 92 points, the Girls Open team was 1st, with a score of 32 points, and the Boys Open placed 3rd. with a score of 72 points; TOP RUNNERS IN EACH OF THE RACES WERE; Girls Varsity: Katie Monnet 4th, Emily Kirchhofer 10th, Kayla Balciar 12th, Jordan Kiszla 15th, Sarah Ray 23rd, Betsy Hancock 35th and Emily Lewis 36th. Girls JV: Kayla Cederstom 3rd, Sarah Markisohn 6th, Molly Ray 8th, Jessica Bond11th, Tessa Neal 15th, Shauna Maty 16th and Becky Baltakis 30th. Girls Open: Ahbe Channing 1st, McKenzie Monnet 4th, Carolyn Pasque 6th, Christy Hillband 8th, Emily Perry 13th, Parker Calbert 15th and Tristin Johnson 16th. P coming meets; Monday, October 16TH @ Exposition Park (Note this is a change of venue due to construction at Utah Park). Exposition Park is at the Northwest corner of Moline Street and Exposition Avenue in Aurora. The Buses will leave at 2:30 p.m. Race Schedule: Freshmen Boys 4:00 p.m., Freshmen Girls 4:03 p.m., Soph. Boys 4:40 p.m., Soph. Girls 4:43 p.m.

REGION I CHAMPIONSHIP: Arvada West High School is the host of the Region I Meet on October 20th, at the Stenger Soccer Complex, Arvada. Buses will leave school @ 1:00 p.m. (no school that day). (State Qualifying meet) 40% of full teams qualify – Top 15 Individual runners qualify. Teams in Region I: Arapahoe, Arvada West, Aurora Central, Chaparral, Columbine, Denver East, Denver West, Eaglecrest, Grand Junction, Littleton, Ponderosa, and Smoky Hill. Directions: I-70 west to exit 267 (CO-391). Turn right North at Kipling and left at W 58th Ave. will be on you left hand side. Race Schedule: Girls Varsity 3:30 p.m., boys Varsity 4:00 p.m.

The girls’ varsity softball team defeated Coronado 5 to 1 in the first round of district playoffs. Unfortunately, the girls were unable to make it to the state tournament, losing to Cherry Creek in the second round. Congratulations on a great season ladies while setting many school records this year. A reminder to all varsity softball players, please turn in your uniforms ASAP to Coach Fazio’s office.

We will meet tomorrow, October 17 at 2:20 in room C5.

Hey warriors, want to make a difference in the lives of animals? Come join the Animals Deserve Rights Club and discover what many people don't even realize is happening to them. We will meet this Wednesday in W104 after school. Please stand up for those that can't stand up for them selves.
