General Announcements

Hey FBLA members and those who are still interested! Didn’t get a chance toattend the last meeting? No worries, there’s still time to join in on thefun! Anyone can come especially if you like community service and business!October 28th we’re going to the Corn Maze and were also going to theChildren’s Hospital for Halloween with goody bags and games. Don't forget weneed your forms and fees! Come to the meeting where we will discuss upcomingevents and we will be signing up for competition as well as voting on theshirt! It is today, October 2nd after school in S1 and bring your friends!

Seniors: Boettcher scholarship applications are available in the Post Grad Center. You are eligible to apply for a Boettcher if you are in the top 5% of your class, scored 1200 or higher on the math and reading sections of the SAT –OR- 27 or higher on the ACT, have been a resident of Colorado for at least your junior and senior years of high school. You may pick up applications in the Post Grad Center.

Attention juniors and seniors: If you received a letter informing you of your eligibility for National Honor Society, please plan to attend a ten minute meeting this week to pick up an application packet and hear instructions. The meetings will be held on Wednesday, October 4 and Thursday, October 5, before school at 7:00 a.m. and after school at 2:30 p.m. on both days, in room C-13. You only need to attend one of the meetings. If you did not receive a letter but believe you are eligible for National Honor Society, please see Mr. Sale or Ms. Gaffney in the English office.

School pictures retakes will be this Wednesday, Oct. 4. Come to the theater hallway between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to get a retake. New students and/or faculty who missed the August date can have photos taken Wednesday, too. Picture packets ordered in August are here and can be claimed in E-8, be sure to pick them up so you will know if you wish a retake.


Homecoming was a huge success! Thanks to all the students who helped decorate for the dance. Now we need your help to clean up. All student council members please come to the gym immediately after school to help clean up from the dance.

Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band for placing 2nd out of all 5A bands at Saturday’s Douglas County Invitational!! We are currently ranked 2nd in the State, out of all competing 5A bands, up to this point in the season!! Way to go Warrior Marching Band!!!

Attention all Amnesty International students, we will be meeting in E-5 on Tuesday to start designing our rice bowls and to decide when we are going to see US vs. John Lennon. We will meet right after school. As always, anyone may join our Amnesty group, you just need to be a compassionate citizen of the world.


Athletics

Attention current AHS Girls Lacrosse Players and any girls interested in playing lacrosse in the spring season. There will be a MANDATORY meeting on Monday, October 2, 2006 in the Forum at 7:00 p.m. for ALL parents and players. Registration packets will be distributed, and information regarding the spring season and ordering uniforms will be discussed. See you on Monday!

The Running Warrior Cross Country Team had a GREAT showing at the Liberty High School Cross Country Invitational. The Girls team won all three races in this 3 team meet: Varsity – Frosh/Soph. and Open Races. The Boys team placed 2nd in the Varsity, 2nd Frosh/Soph. and 1st in the Open Races. Great Job to all team members. Many runners had their season best time. Keep up the FAST running.
