General Announcements

Attention juniors and seniors: Are you interested in taking college classes while you’re still enrolled in high school? If so, you must attend an informational meeting in the Forum on Friday, November 3rd during your lunch hour. Required paperwork and information will be distributed, so your attendance is mandatory. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.

Attention Arapahoe Mathematicians!! The 2nd National Assessment and Testing Mathematics competition is scheduled for today, (11/1) at 2:30 p.m. in room S-11. Snacks will be provided. Your talents are needed so please plan to attend. Please confirm your participation with Mrs. Blechschmidt. The University of Northern Colorado Mathematics Competition is scheduled for Friday, November 3rd, after school in room N-2 and N-3. Please return your permission forms to your math teacher or to Mrs. Lobser ASAP! The CSU Math Day Competition is tomorrow, November 2nd. Participants must return their completed permission forms to Mrs. Bretz as soon as possible.

If you like humans and are ready to jam, come to Amnesty International's 2nd annual JAMNESTY. The concert will be this Friday, November 3rd at 6pm at the Rockhouse. All proceeds go to planning our spring fundraiser which raises money for Project Education Sudan. Look for a table in the cafeteria this week for details and get ready to jam for a cause!

Attention juniors: Terry Ruch (Roosh) will be here today to give a presentation on preparing for college. Juniors will be dismissed to go to the auditorium by the loudspeaker after reporting to 5th hour class. Please bring a pen and paper for notes, as he will be giving out valuable information.

AHS Special Olympics Basketball is almost ready to start! Any seniors who are interested in participating should come to room S6 and see Mrs. Pepe. If you have previously signed up, please come in for an application. Practices start Nov. 20. The season runs through the first week of March. We practice at AHS from 7-8:30.

Do you have a heart for all sorts of animals? Come to the Animals Deserve Rights meeting today in W104. Food will be provided and we are always looking for new members. You do not need to attend every meeting in order to be involved, so keep looking for updates and new upcoming projects!

Hey FBLA are meeting time has been changed for this week to Thursday after school in S1 for adopt a family. We will be making posters and organizing the adopt-a-family drive.

Hey Community Service Just ‘Cause members! There’s going to be a meeting tomorrow in room C19 right after school. The holiday season is almost here, so we have a lot to plan. See you at the meeting!

Juniors and seniors: Colleges continue to visit AHS. Please check the visit schedule on Naviance or in the Guidance Center and sign up to talk with representatives from colleges you are interested in.

Hey all Muse members! We have a meeting today in room C16 after school. Don’t forget your planners!

Juniors and seniors: colleges visiting today are Bethany College, Casper College and Colorado College.

Athletics

The boys Varsity soccer team defeated Heritage last night 2 – 0. Goals came from Joe Madigan and Dustin Beane. The win advances the team to the semi-finals.

Winter sports registration will take place next week at 2:30 pm in Room S3. Wrestling will be done on Monday, November 6th, boy’s and girl’s basketball will be on Tuesday, November 7th and girls swimming and diving will be on Wednesday, November 8th.

Cross Country runners are to turn in CLEAN uniforms after school today and Wednesday in the down stairs equipment room. Also, if you have not picked up your team jacket, do so today!

The football team will play Highlands Ranch in the first round of playoffs this Saturday, November 4th at Shea Stadium. Game time is 1:00 pm. No student passes will be accepted. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.
