General Announcements

Attention all Amnesty members! Please remember to meet in the cafeteria tonight by 5pm with your soup, crockpot, and ladels. Please also bring crackers and drinks if you can. Thanks and see you tonight!

Attention all Warriors! Amnesty International will be hosting a community forum on worldwide hunger in the AHS cafeteria Monday, November 20th, at 6:30 pm. Tickets will be on pre-sale during both lunches for $5. Tickets include a bowl of soup and a night of fun!

Attention Students for a very important announcement regarding a schedule change. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday we will be having Thursday’s classes tomorrow.

Have you taken ICA yet? If not, this announcement is VERY IMPORTANT for you! The business department is offering the ICA Proficiency Exam on November 30th from 2:30-4:00. If you pass this exam you can enroll directly in Computer Applications 1 for your graduation requirement and skip ICA. Stop by the business dept. to sign up and get more information.

Hey FBLA, last day to sign up for FBLA and FBLA district competitions is today. There is a meeting after school for signing up for events and checking that you are in the correct events. Meeting is held in S1.

“Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way……Time to Shop for Toys for Tots …to make a Happy Holiday!” The day after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year. Think about shopping for a boy or girl at Ashley Elementary. Our goal is 1000 NEW toys – priced $10-$15. Bring your toys to the Attendance Office after the Thanksgiving break. Let’s make it a great holiday for the kids!

Hawaii Pacific University will be holding an information session on Thursday, November 30th, from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at Cherry Creek High School. All interested students, parents and counselors are welcome to attend! Anyone interested should RSVP by email or phone to lhall@hpu.edu or 1-866-470-0066. Please indicate student name, year, the number of people attending, a phone number and e-mail address. A confirmation e-mail will be sent with directions.

Attention all FCCLA members: Don’t forget about your holiday social today right after school. We will also be making our “Gifts in a Jar” to benefit our adoptive family for the holidays. See you today right after school in room E2!

Congratulations go to Nathan Arnold and Ryan Foley for winning first place in Public Forum Debate at the Denver Public Speech and Debate Tournament! Seven students also scored Superior and Excellent ribbons!

Hey Arapahoe, it’s the Fraser fir Tree sale fundraiser. For a donation of $20, you will receive a credit of $20 toward the purchase of any tree on the lot of AHS between December 1st and December 5th. All proceeds directly support the activities of the School band and the Boys swim team. Pay any band or swim team member and you will receive a $20 credit and admission pass.

A West Point cadet will be in the cafeteria today, Monday, during 2nd lunch to visit with interested students. Two US Naval Academy cadets will be in the cafeteria tomorrow, Tuesday, during both lunches to visit with interested students. Please stop by and get your questions answered.

Athletics

CONGRATULATIONS to the Varsity Cheers for their first place finish in the Northern Metro Rocky Mountain High Spirit Competition. The team performed an almost flawless routine this past Saturday to capture the title. Way to go girls! Their next competition will be the CHSAA State Spirit Championship on December 1st at the Denver Coliseum. Good luck to our Warrior Cheers and Toms at State!
