General Announcements

Do you feel lucky? Well do ya? Stop by the Library this week and make a guess to win the pot of gold, okay it’s really candy. The winner will be announced on March 17th.

Seniors: If you ordered graduation announcements and were unable to pick them up last week, please see Mrs. Sisler in the guidance office.

ATTENTION ALL YOU ARAPAHOE ARTISTS! "Art Attack" is fast approaching! If you are interested in participating this year, bring your entrees to the Art Department. The deadline for all entrees is Friday, April 4. If you have any questions about "Art Attack" - see one of the teachers in the Art Department.

Hey students! Be sure to pick up the latest issue of the Arapahoe Herald, Arapahoe’s award winning student newspaper. New issues can be picked up from stands in the cafeteria. You can also read stories online by going to the school’s website and clicking on the Arapahoe Herald link. Don’t miss the scoop on our community’s latest news.

Attention all FCCLA members: Please plan to attend a very important meeting on Monday March 17th right after school in room E2. Please bring with you four to six packages of Easter grass for putting together our Easter baskets for charity. Check out Wal-Mart as they have very inexpensive grass in a variety of colors! Please see Mrs. Rains this week if you have any questions. We will also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Those attending state conference in April will need to stay after the meeting to discuss conference plans. See you there AHS FCCLA!

After popular success, Spanish club will be hosting its second round of Salsa Night at the Rio Park Meadows on Tuesday March 18th! For those of you who missed it the first time and would like to learn the moves, free lessons begin around 7:30. For all you expert salsa dancers out there, open dance floor starts at 8:30

Athletics
“The Lady Warrior Golf team had its first competition yesterday. The Varsity team finished in third place in a Continental League pre-season match, led by Leslie McGetrick’s two-over par at Springhill Golf Course. The JV team beat Valor High School head-to-head at South Suburban Golf Course.”

The girl’s JV tennis team defeated Castle View’s varsity team yesterday by a score of 5-2. Congratulations girls!

The Girls JV Lacrosse team defeated Chaparral yesterday with a score of 6-4. Beth Ambrozic scored 3 goals, and Sarah Miller, Nicole Lyons and Amber Olsen each scored one goal. Assists were made by Ali Harden and Audrey Damico. Congratulations to the JV team for a successful first week of play!

Tomorrow Your Arapahoe Warrior Track and Field team will be competing right here at Arapahoe High School in a very special varsity track meet. We will be teaming up with both Heritage and Littleton to take on the schools from Fort Collins to find out which city has the strongest track programs. This event starts at 10:00am so please come out and support your Warrior Track Team

Attention to all girls trying out for Cheerleading for the 2008-2009 school year! Please remember all forms are due to Mrs. Weems in the athletic office today.

The Varsity Girls Lacrosse team defeated Chaparral yesterday 17-12 in a hard hitting game. Scoring for your Warriors were Katie Gerhard 5 goals, Channing Ahbe 4 goals 1 assist, Adison Rounds 4 goals, Sammy MacCurdy 2 goals, 2 assists, Megan O'Donnell 1 goal, 1 assist, Kate Spring 1 goal, 1 assist, and Stacey Birlson 2 assists. Nice job ladies. The Warriors play Saturday at 2:00 at Newton when they take on Ralston Valley.

All Special Olympic basketball players and partners need to turn in their uniforms to S-6 this week
