General Announcements

WISH WEEK is happening soon! We will celebrate Wish Week March 31st thru April 4th. AHS, please help us send 8 year old Marcus to Disney World. The CU Buffoons are coming back to AHS. Mark your calendar for the Wish Week Concert event on Monday, March 31st. Tickets for the CU Buffoons concert will be sold during lunch. The concert is at 7pm and tickets are just $5.00. The big Seniors vs. Staff Basketball game is Thursday April 3rd, tickets are $5.00.

Auditions for the 2008-2009 AHS Concert Choir, Choralettes and Arapahoe Singers will be held April 21 – 25. There are sign up sheets in the choir room and everyone is welcome to audition. Please see Ms. Parmenter for details.

If you don’t have a Western Civ. class, please make an appointment with your counselor.

Calling all Speech and Debate Members! We are having a MANDATORY meeting the Monday after spring break in Room C15. Whether you are competing or not, please show up and sign up to help organize the National Qualifying Tournament at AHS! We will need all the help we can get so if you cannot attend this meeting please see Mrs. Graham in the English Office. Thanks!

Habitat for Humanity's letter writing campaign is going on now! Help raise money to build a home for the Benbrahim-Moumni family by writing to friends, family and neighbors. You can get NHS hours for this project. Go to the NHS web page for more information. All letters are due by Friday, April 4.

You’re all invited to the 2008 Arapahoe Warrior Winter Guard Invitational next Saturday, March 29th. Some of the best Winter Guards from all over the state will be performing in competition, in our gym, starting at 4:00pm – don’t miss it!!

Athletics

The girls JV Lacrosse team continued their undefeated season with a win against Colorado Academy on Thursday by a score of 12-4. Scoring goals for the team were Amber Olsen, Kayla Fasold, Maddison Miller, Shannan Pullara, Courtney Jones, Samantha Perkins and Ali Harden. Congratulations girls on your 6-0 season!!!

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team. They defeated Colorado Academy yesterday by a score of 9-4. Scoring for the Warriors were Adison Rounds, 2 goals, 1 assist, Channing Ahbe 2 goals, Stacey Birlson 2 goals, Katie Gerhard 1 goal, Megan O'Donnell, 1 goal, Kate Spring 1 goal. Goalie Jen Weidner had 5 saves. Please come support the team when they take on Cherry Creek Saturday evening at 5:00 at LPS Stadium.

Varsity Warrior Baseball vs Columbine Rebels today on the Arapahoe Field at 4:00pm
The Warriors are looking to upset a team ranked in the Top Ten, that also has two of the state's top high school prospects. Arapahoe's starting pitcher is Ryan Whittemore. There will be baseball Trivia questions with prizes. Pregame music starts at 3:00pm

Congratulations to the girl’s golf team for taking 1st place in a pre-season league match at Aurora Hills on Wednesday. There were three individual Warriors that finished in the top ten.
