General Announcements

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way!   Way to go Warriors !  We surpassed our goal of 1,000 toys for Colfax Elementary and The Denver Indian Center.  Please come to the Wrapping Party TODAY after school in the Cafeteria. 

Attention Warriors -- You will receive your 2nd Semester Schedules in your 3rd hour class today.  Please see Mrs. Flinders in the Guidance Center if you do not have a 3rd hour class on Monday.  Schedule adjustments can be made for academic misplacement.  Please see your counselor during your unscheduled hours.  The schedule adjustment period will run from December 10th-14th and December 17th-21st.  Remember changes will be made for Academic Misplacement ONLY.

Here’s an important reminder to new members of National Honor Society: Our induction ceremony is tonight at 7:00!  Our mandatory dress rehearsal is after school at 2:30 in the theater, and it will last approximately an hour.  Then you will need to be back in the theater between 6:30 and 6:45 for this important event.  For current members of National Honor Society, we do not have any more meetings this semester, but your service logs are due before the end of the semester.  Please just drop off your completed service log at Mr. Smith's desk in the science office, sometime before the end of the semester.  Thank you.

Congratulations to the following students for their performances in this past Saturday's Winter Wonder Speech and Debate Tournament held at Cherry Creek High School:
·   Ell Eshleman earned a superior ribbon in Lincoln Douglas Debate. 
·   Susanna Baggerly earned an excellent ribbon in Lincoln Douglas Debate.
·   Earning excellent ribbons Public Forum Debate were the teams of 
o Angie Mock and Nick Sabo
o Lizzie Stephani and Larson Ross.
This was a highly competitive tournament featuring 37 schools from throughout the state with well over 600 students competing. 

All Speech and Debate Team members interested in participating in a tournament in January must attend Tuesday's meeting after school in C15.

TSA club will meet again this Wednesday after school in Room E7. This will be "Competitive Event" rules meeting as we will go over and print out all your State Competitive Events Rules.  Hope to see you.  Our final TSA meeting of the semester will be next Monday, Dec 17.  State TSA conference money and paperwork is due then!!!!

Sophomores and Juniors, the PSAT results are back! If you took the PSAT, please come and pick up your results in the Guidance Office.

The library will close at 2:00 tomorrow, Tuesday, for a staff meeting. Students should plan ahead. We apologize for the inconvenience.



Athletics

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Toms for winning the 5A State Pom Championships!  The Toms went into finals in first place and held that position with an amazing and perfect performance!  Thank you to all of the students and staff who attended the championships for your tremendous support.  You made all the difference!!  Thank you, Toms, for your hard work and dedication to your team and for representing Arapahoe High School in such a spectacular way!  Go Toms; go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Varsity Cheerleading Team! The cheers made the finals and performed their routine two times on Friday at the Denver Coliseum. There were 42 5A teams at the 2012 CHSAA State Championships, and the Cheers finished in 8th place. Great job Warriors!

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball team for their victory on Saturday over Rock Canyon 63-43 in the Championship game of the Rock Canyon/ThunderRidge "Kickoff Classic". Once again, the win was a tremendous team effort. The girls varsity is now 6 and 0 on the season and is in action again tonight at Arvada West at 7:00 p.m. Thanks to all of you that came to support the team on Saturday, we all appreciate that enthusiasm. We also hope you can come out tonight and do the same at Arvada West. See you there!

Congrats to the Lady Warriors Freshman team as they picked up their first league win last night at Overland. The Warriors won a slug fest 31-17.  They played really well as a team and are learning how to play team basketball.  Keep it up!

Attention any girl who wishes to play girls' soccer for Arapahoe this spring. We will be having a meeting on Wednesday, December 12 in Room N5 at 2:30 p.m.  Meeting is mandatory and will last less than 20 minutes.  Thanks.

Do you have a hidden talent you would like to present to your fellow Warriors?  Mr. Sisler is the Master of Ceremonies for all home basketball game half-time performances.  If interested in being a part of any of these events, please see Mr. Sisler in the Athletic Office.  It's a Great Day to be a Warrior!
