General Announcements 

Welcome to the dancing through the decades homecoming week! Everyone’s looking groovy on the first day but don’t forget to wear your best tie-dye tomorrow. We have the homecoming talent show tonight! It starts at 7 in the theater and tickets are available for five dollars during lunch and at the door. Come see bands, dancing, Magic Mark and more! Homecoming tickets will be sold in the cafeteria for 10 dollars. And freshmen! Get your gold homecoming shirts for 6 dollars to show your warrior spirit on Friday.

If you are bringing a guest from another school to Homecoming, please stop by the Main office to pick up a Guest Approval Form. The form is also available to download from the September DrumBeat. Forms are due back September 11th.

Attention all freshmen and new students! Come join your Link leaders after school from 3:30 to 4:30 in the cafeteria on Tuesday the 11th to decorate t-shirts for homecoming! Either bring an old gold shirt or buy one for $6 from student council! We hope to see you all there!

FBLA is starting up! All are welcome to our meeting this Wednesday September 12th in the Forum right after school. We will be discussing our social events, community service opportunities and of course our competitions that we have planned this year. See you Wednesday.

9th and 10th grade students, you may now finish your MAP testing in the Library through this Friday the 14th. We are excited to get TSA 2.0 started! Please plan on attending the first meeting on Tues Sept 18th in room 1287 to see if this student organization is for YOU! Any students interested in participating in the Fall Leadership Conference at Coors Field, you must see Mr. McMullen THIS week! Registration deadline is Friday!

Attention freshmen... and sophomores... and juniors... and seniors! Nothing feels quite as groovy as giving back. If you are looking for a club that focuses on volunteering around our community, then join AHS Key Club at our first meeting is TODAY, after school, in the Forum. You'll hear about our club and decide if it's the right fit for you. All are welcome, and we hope to see you there!

Free Alive @25 class will be held next Monday September 17th after school from 3:45 - 8:15 in room W1874. If you are voluntarily taking the class the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 fee. If you are 15 1/2 you can get drivers permit after taking the class and a lot insurance companies give you a discount. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Sign up online at www.aliveat25.us To register for the class the password is "arapahoe" and see Deputy Englert if you have questions.

And now for some Speech and Debate news! Returning members, we have a meeting tomorrow in C1452 after school. If you are interested in joining the Speech and Debate team, we will be having an informational meeting this Thursday after school in C1452. Hope to see you there! 

Athletics 

Congratulations to ABK Varsity Soccer for winning the Warrior Invitational Championship with a 4-0 victory over the Littleton Lions. A great team effort in the tournament led to 14 goals scored and none allowed. Everyone offensively and defensively contributed to winning the championship. The JV also captured their championship with a 6-0 victory over Liberty High School. Way to go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country team for their impressive performance at Saturday's Liberty Bell Invitational. In the Division 1 races, the Varsity was 4th, the JV was 1st, and the Open team was also 1st while finishing with a perfect score by individual Warrior runners getting 1st through 5th places in the race. Great work Ladies!

Congratulations to the Girls Gymnastics Team for taking 3rd place at Saturday's Invitational! Highlights include: 3rd on Floor and 7th on Vault by Carly Backer and 7th on Bars by Hope Jones. Way to go, Girls!

Congrats to the Varsity softball team for finishing 3rd in the Don McCall tournament hosted by Douglas County High School. Your Lady Warriors had 2 wins and 1 loss in the tournament. Their only loss was a 1-run loss to the eventual tournament champions. Great Job Ladies. Next up for the Warriors is a home game tomorrow against Bear Creek. Game time is 4:30 pm at the Arapahoe Softball field. Good Luck Warriors!

In Swim & Dive News - Homecoming Float Decorating will be Tuesday and Thursday from 4-8 PM. For details please visit www.ahsswimdive.com Our pool Party will be rescheduled, please stay tuned for a new date. The pre-Season Swimming Technique-Training Sessions begins this week. Sessions are open to anyone interested in swimming this year. Flyers can be found in the swim office or online at www.ahsswimdive.com. Attention all wrestlers! Any wrestler or manager that wants to be on the homecoming float should plan on meeting this Tuesday after school in Room N1475 or see Coach Sisler.
