General Announcements

*Seniors!  Please remember to check your LPS email regularly.  Colleges, post grad, and counseling may be trying to reach you about incomplete college applications, missing test score or other important information regarding your college applications.

*Attention all Juniors and Seniors.  Have you taken 3 business classes? Do you have a 3.0 overall GPA?  Do you have a GPA of 3.5 or higher in your business classes? If so, come pick up an application for the National Business Honor Society.  NBHS membership is a great addition to any college or work resume. Applications are due Friday, January 31st.  

*The Arapahoe Student Council and the Marine Life/Environmental Club would like to bring attention to the Australian Bushfire Crisis. They are sponsoring a fundraiser to raise money for koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, and other wildlife tragically affected by the devastating fires. The fundraiser begins on January 27th and runs till February 5th in all science classes. Money raised will go directly to the World Wildlife Fund’s efforts towards the fire. In addition, every class that raises at least $100 will win a Krispy Kreme Donut Party for their class. Moreover, the teacher whose classes raises the most money collectively will win a Starbucks gift card. This is your opportunity to help animals affected by the fires!

*Are you a little nervous about the ACT?  Would you like to get a little boost of confidence?  Sycamore Learning will be hosting an ACT Seminar at Arapahoe on February 3rd and 4th.  To register, go to www.prepforthefuture.com.

*For those of you traveling to Washington DC this March, your final deposit is due by this Thursday, January 16th.  Please come see Ms Winn if you have any questions.  

*Please remember to return your daily checked out Chromebooks and Lenovo chargers. Many mornings we're out of both Chromebooks and Lenovo chargers by noon.

*Attention Juniors: are you still trying to earn competency toward graduation in English and/or Math? Or do you have post-secondary goals that involve joining the military? If either of these apply to you, you have the opportunity to sign up and take the ASVAB-- the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery-- for FREE at AHS this Friday, January 17, from 12:00-3:30. To sign up, please see Ms. Vail in the counseling office.

*Free Alive @ 25 class on Wednesday, January 22nd, 3:45pm - 8:15 PM in room W1874. If you are voluntarily taking the class, the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 fee.  If you are 15 1/2 you can get your driver’s permit after taking the class and many insurance companies will give you a discount. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Sign up on-line at www.aliveat25.us. To register for the class the password is "arapahoe".  Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.

*10th, 11th, 12th students… Do you have an extra hour or two in your schedule? The Library needs help throughout the week. Stop by the library to see the times available.

Athletics    

*All girl golfers who plan on playing this Spring: there will be a very short mandatory meeting in S1414 after school today. Please see Coach Riordan with any questions.

*Seniors: National Signing Day is coming up on Wednesday 2/5/20. Arapahoe will be holding a ceremony in the cafeteria that day at 7:30 AM. If you have signed a letter of intent to continue your athletic endeavors on a college campus next year please pick up paperwork from Mrs. Weems in the Athletic Office this week to participate in the ceremony on 2/5/20.
