General Announcements

Homecoming Week was a huge success! Thanks to all the clubs and sports teams who participated in the Parade. Here are the Parade results:
The Drama Club wins First Prize in all the categories judged. They had an amazing float and all the drama club students contributed so much to the event. Congrats and your club wins $250.00.
The Senior Class wins First Prize for the Class float competition. Your gorilla added sweet taste to the creative idea. Good job Seniors!

Congratulations to the Freshmen class for their victory last week with the Homecoming Dress Up Days. The Freshmen class dominated with the most participation last week. Thanks Class of 2011. We hope you had a fantastic first Homecoming experience.
The Sophomores took second place followed by the seniors and then the juniors.

Attention ALL student council members and officers! We need all of you to meet in the gym right after school to help with Homecoming Dance Clean Up. It will only take 20 minutes so please come and help us.

Come join FBLA today room S1 at 2:25. We will have free pizza and information about opportunities that will help you in your future. We have social activities, community service, and best of all competition! See you after school room S1. Can't make it? See Mrs. Swank in the business department.

Reminder: The deadline for Juniors and Seniors to complete the Military Opt-Out form is Friday September 28, 2007. Forms are available in the Guidance Center.

Hey Warriors! FCCLA (that’s Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) is sponsoring a free ice cream social on September 19th after school in room E2. You heard us right – it is totally free! You must sign up ahead of time and pick up a ticket in order to attend. Stop by rooms E2 or E3 to get your ticket. Come enjoy ice cream, learn about FCCLA, and meet new friends.

“College-Bound Warriors Listen UP! Come to the Guidance Office to register for SAT and PSAT test prep courses offered Monday, September 17th and Tuesday, September 18th after school. These classes will help improve your test scores which can open up opportunities for college. Register for PSAT and SAT prep courses in the Guidance Office NOW!”

Attention Creative Problem Solvers! A new season of Destination ImagiNation is beginning. If you are interested in participating on a team, please see Mrs. Lobser in the Enrichment Room.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Freshmen Football team for their convincing 21-8 victory over Gateway on Saturday. The “Defense” was Awesome for the 3rd straight week. Touchdowns were scored by Brett mentor, Sean Dolfinger and Adam Lindell. The Freshmen are currently undefeated 3 and 0 and face Heritage here at AHS on Saturday morning.

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team for their victory over Gateway on Friday. The Lady Warriors won by a score of 20 to 9. Come cheer on the team as they play cross town rival Littleton today at 4:00 at DeKoveand Park.

Congrats to the Varsity Volleyball team for completing a great Homecoming week of games. They defeated Ponderosa and Rangeview on Tuesday and Thursday, and had a great day Saturday at the Eaglecrest Invitational Tournament. They beat Roosevelt, #10 ranked Legacy, and Mountain View, and lost tough matches to #7 ranked Pine Creek and #1 ranked Eaglecrest. They play Regis away tomorrow night and Douglas County this Thursday at home. Come out and support the team!

Congratulations to the Girls’ Sophomore Volleyball team for their second place finish on Saturday at the Heritage Tournament. A special congratulation goes out to Lacy Rogers for being voted onto the All-tournament team. Good Job ladies.

A.J. Krumholz kicked two field goals and the defense made a terrific goal line stand to preserve a 6 to 5 JV football win over Gateway. Up next is Heritage this Saturday at 11:30.

Attention all girls swimmers and divers. Don't forget, tonight at 6 PM the ice cream social. You may order equipment along with other activities in Arapahoe's school cafeteria.
