General Announcements

You’re all invited to the Annual LPS Showcase at the Powell Middle School Cafetorium tonight. All the middle and high school jazz bands will be performing from 5:30 until 8:10pm. It’s free! Our Jazz II Band will perform at 5:30pm, and our top jazz band, Jazz I, will perform at 7:35pm. Come and enjoy some great jazz tonight at Powell!

This Thursday, Feb. 7th the library will be closed until 5th hour. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Person 1: No way! I’m cancelling my very important plans on Thursday, February 7th at 7pm. I’m totally going to come! I’ll buy my ticket during lunch for $5.
Person 2: Hopefully my whole family can come that night so I think I’ll buy my tickets at the auditorium door.
Person 1: Yeah, it’s going to be really entertaining; the auditorium is usually pretty jam packed! See you there!

Attention Seniors: If you have not ordered your graduation announcements please pick up an order form from Mrs. Sisler in the Guidance office or in the main office.

This announcement is for all 17 and 18 year old young men. If you have not registered with the Selective Service, this is the time to do it. Federal law requires all men living in the US to register within a month of their 18th birthday. Registering keeps you eligible for college loans, job training, government jobs and driver’s license renewal in most states. You can get a Selective Service registration card at your local post office or register online at http://www.sss.gov/. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Snyder in the Guidance Office. Be sure to register for Selective Service as soon as you can. Your future depends on it.

Athletics

There will be a Special Olympic basketball game tonight against Chaparral High School at AHS at 7:00 a.m. Please come and cheer the team!

Attention ALL female athletes at AHS. You are all invited to attend the Girls Varsity Basketball Game on Tuesday Feb. 12th at 7pm. At this game we will recognize all of our female athletes in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. FREE ADMISSION for all female athletes on Feb. 12th at the girls varsity basketball game. We hope you can make it and be recognized for your participation in sport at Arapahoe High School.

Amy Van Dyken, a 6 time Olympic Gold Medalist will be here at AHS on Saturday, February 9th. She will be speaking to all of our female swimmers and fans at 1pm in the pool in honor of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Come and meet Olympic gold medalist Amy Van Dyken on Feb. 9th at 1pm in the swimming pool. Good luck to the lady warriors at the A League Swim Meet!

Spring Sports Registration will take place next week from Tuesday thru Thursday after school in Room S4. Please stop by the Athletic Office and pick up your paperwork to be completed and returned the day of your sports registration.

The Remember Club asks you to buckle up and take care of one another.
