General Announcements

Students are reminded that they should carry their student ID during the school day.

Students, don’t forget the DECA BBQ today. Cost is only $3 for a super delicious lunch!

We’ve got spirit, yes we do! Tomorrow is spirit day. Remember, Freshmen and Juniors wear gold. Sophomores and Seniors wear black. While you’re dressed for the occasion, don’t forget to sign up in the cafeteria during both lunches to participate in the assembly tug o’ war and centipede race.

EeePCs are in the library! Students may checkout a EeePC Netbook to use in the library –all you need is your student ID. The EeePCs are a great option if all the desktop computers are being used or you’d simply like to sit at a table to complete your work. The wireless access in the library is excellent. The next time you need to use a computer, drop by the library and give one of these a try.

Students…..If you have received an Arapahoe Student Calendar that has several pages of the calendar section incorrectly assembled, please go to the Main Office to exchange it for a corrected version. Apparently one case of calendars was distributed with this assembly mistake. Thank you!

Hey Arapahoe! We want to give more of you an opportunity to audition for the Fall Talent Show so we are giving you some more time to put those fantastic acts together. Auditions will now be Monday, September 14th and Tuesday, September 15th! Sign up in the main office and show us your talent.

Are you ready to "Join the TSA Team"? Plan on attending the first TSA meeting of the year, next Monday, Sept 14 at 2:25 in room E10. If you signed up for TSA during Club Cafe, here's your chance to get involved in this exciting club. See Mr. McMullen if you have questions.

The Herff Jones Company will be taking class ring orders on Tuesday, September 15, during lunches in the cafeteria. You can pick up an order packet in the Main Office or the Guidance Office.

Seniors, are you interested in attending one of the United States Military Academies? If you live in the 7th Congressional District, you need to complete an academy application from Congressman Perlmutter. All applications are due by September 25. Come to the Guidance Office to pick up an application.

Applications are now being accepted for student openings on the Arapahoe School Accountability Committee. This committee is an advisory board of parents, staff, administrators, and students. It meets one Thursday each month at 4:00 p.m. for 2 hours. You must have attended Arapahoe for at least one year to apply. Applications are available from Mrs. Gottlieb in the Attendance Office. Applications will accepted through September 11.

For all Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors interested in bringing a guest to Arapahoe’s Homecoming Dance, please make sure you pick up a blue Dance Guest Pass Approval Form located in the Attendance Office or Main Office.

Students are reminded to bring his/her ID to the Homecoming Dance Saturday night. Please remember that the Homecoming Dance is a semi-formal event and no denim or blue jeans are allowed. Please dress in semi formal attire.

Juniors and Seniors: College visits are starting next week. Please check the Naviance visit schedule and the whiteboard outside the Guidance Center for the colleges that are visiting. Many colleges are coming in the next 6 weeks.
