Students are reminded that they should carry their student ID during the school day.
Warriors! Lookin’ Good in the black and gold today! Be sure to attend the football game tonight and watch your Warriors take on Regis at LPS stadium at 7:00 p.m. Tomorrow, don’t forget the homecoming parade is at 10 a.m. Come admire the talents of many clubs and sports as they cruise around the school. Tomorrow is also the dance! For only ten dollars, you can get your groove on. Student council is selling tickets in the cafeteria during both lunches today. You can also buy your tickets for fifteen dollars at the door.
Students are reminded to bring his/her ID to the Homecoming Dance Saturday night. Please remember that the Homecoming Dance is a semi-formal event and no denim or blue jeans are allowed. Please dress in semi formal attire.
EeePCs are in the library! Students may checkout a EeePC Netbook to use in the library –all you need is your student ID. The EeePCs are a great option if all the desktop computers are being used or you’d simply like to sit at a table to complete your work. The wireless access in the library is excellent. The next time you need to use a computer, drop by the library and give one of these a try.
Students…..If you have received an Arapahoe Student Calendar that has several pages of the calendar section incorrectly assembled, please go to the Main Office to exchange it for a corrected version. Apparently one case of calendars was distributed with this assembly mistake. Thank you!
Hey Arapahoe! We want to give more of you an opportunity to audition for the Fall Talent Show so we are giving you some more time to put those fantastic acts together. Auditions will now be Monday, September 14th and Tuesday, September 15th! Sign up in the main office and show us your talent.
Are you ready to "Join the TSA Team"? Plan on attending the first TSA meeting of the year, next Monday, Sept 14 at 2:25 in room E10. If you signed up for TSA during Club Cafe, here's your chance to get involved in this exciting club. See Mr. McMullen if you have questions.
The Herff Jones Company will be taking class ring orders on Tuesday, September 15, during lunches in the cafeteria. You can pick up an order packet in the Main Office or the Guidance Office.
Seniors, are you interested in attending one of the United States Military Academies? If you live in the 7th Congressional District, you need to complete an academy application from Congressman Perlmutter. All applications are due by September 25. Come to the Guidance Office to pick up an application.
Applications are now being accepted for student openings on the Arapahoe School Accountability Committee. This committee is an advisory board of parents, staff, administrators, and students. It meets one Thursday each month at 4:00 p.m. for 2 hours. You must have attended Arapahoe for at least one year to apply. Applications are available from Mrs. Gottlieb in the Attendance Office. Applications will accepted through September 11.
Juniors and Seniors: College visits are starting next week. Please check the Naviance visit schedule and the whiteboard outside the Guidance Center for the colleges that are visiting. Many colleges are coming in the next 6 weeks.
Athletics
Congratulations to the Varsity Boys’ Soccer Team for their 3-1 win over Littleton High School in the Warrior Invitational Tournament. Scoring for AHS were Jack Layman with 2 goals and Justin Miller (1).
The Boys’ Varsity Tennis team defeated Smoky Hill yesterday by a score of 5-2. Congratulations guys. Come out to Kent Denver today to watch your varsity tennis team play in our 4th match of the season.
Congratulations to the JV Boys’ Tennis team who defeated Smoky Hill yesterday 13-2. Go, Warriors!
Homecoming Football is Here! There are 3 exciting games this weekend against the Regis Raiders:
· Friday, Sept 11 at 7:00 pm – catch the Varsity team and all the Homecoming festivities at LPS stadium
· Saturday, Sept 12 at 9:00 am – Freshman team plays on AHS field
· Saturday, Sept 12 at 11:30 am – JV team plays on AHS field
