General Announcements

Hello Arapahoe! All of you Jewelry and Ceramics students who forgot to bring in your jewelry and ceramics for “Art Attack”, you may still turn them in. Please bring them tomorrow or Wednesday.

Attention Seniors and Juniors: If you plan to bring a guest from another school to prom, please make sure you pick up your 2011 Prom Guest Approval Form in the Attendance office. These forms are due back to Mrs. Gottlieb no later than Tuesday, April 26th at 3:00 p.m.

Tuesday morning April 5th there will be an intent to run meeting. If you are interested in being a Student Council Officer for the 2011-2012 school year please attend the before school meeting at 6:45 in the forum, or after school at 2:30 in the forum. The You Matter meeting will also be held on Tuesday morning the 5th at 6:45 in the forum. Thanks and hope to see you there!

Hey FCCLA – Don’t forget our very important meeting today after school in room E2. We will be discussing our safe driving campaign, state conference, culinary competition, and more! Culinary team – don’t forget you are practicing right after the meeting. See you there FCCLA!

Attention all members of National Honor Society. This Wednesday we’ll be having a short meeting right after school in the forum. We’ll be discussing a few end-of-year volunteer opportunities, so please plan to be in the forum by 2:25 on Wednesday!

Do you want to know how to succeed in business without really trying? Then come buy tickets for the spring musical, on sale in the cafeteria during lunch. “How to Succeed” will run from Wednesday, April 13th to Saturday April 16th with show times at 7:00pm. All tickets are $8.00 and it is reserved seating, so get your tickets today!

Aye! Aye! Come dance Salsa with Mrs. Abner's social dance class at the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant on Tuesday, April 5th from 7:30 - 8:30. Salsa lessons will be taught at 7:30. Bring $5.00 for admission. Hope you can make it to Salsa Night at the Rio.

Calling all mathematicians or just students who enjoy math:

Do you like problem solving? Is math a fun challenge for you? Well if so, then you should participate in Metro State Math Day on Tuesday April 12. This is a fun filled day of math competitions, building competitions and a chance to see your math knowledge put to action. If you are interested, get a permission slip from Ms.Bretz desk in the math office and sign up. Hurry, only the first 10 can go! Come challenge yourself!

The Muse Showcase is here once again! Celebrate the accomplishments of submitted authors, poets, and artists April 7 at 7:00 pm in the forum. Music and food will be provided along with free copies of the 2011 Muse magazine to those students’ whose work was published. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the Winter Percussion Ensemble on an awesome performance at the state competition held last Saturday at the First Band Center in Broomfield. Led by Captains Cameron Brown and Grant Larson, the Winter Percussion Ensemble placed fifth in the state in its first year ever in the marching division.

Love business? Have you taken many business classes? If you have, you may qualify for a Certificate of Proficiency in Business Management, Technology, Accounting or Marketing. Please stop by the Business Department for you application. Applications are due no later than April 15th.

Good luck to our STATE CHAMPION WINTER GUARD as they travel this Wednesday morning to the National Championships in Dayton, Ohio. This will be our team’s first ever trip to Nationals. We are all proud of you!

Athletics

The Boys and Girls Lacrosse teams set a new record with the Meals on Wheels food drive, Saturday. We had about 130 players show up to donate and organize food. Great job ladies and gentlemen, you helped make a difference. We are very proud of you!

Last Friday, the Boys Junior Varsity Gold team was victorious over Littleton High School, and on Saturday, the Boys Lacrosse Level 3 team beat Chaparral High School with a score of 16-0. Go Warriors!

Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity Lacrosse team for their victory over the Lake Oswego, Oregon, Lakers last Friday, with a final score of 14 – 6. Well done, Arapahoe!
