General Announcements

Congratulations to the following 2011 Prom Royalty Court:

King: Nile Carrethers, Queen: Lindsey Mullins, Prince: Andrew Thompson, Princess: Shannan Pullara, Senior Attendants: Grant Jones and Morgan Turley, and Junior Attendants: Kaity Ireland, Garrett Eppers, Caroline Blakney and Josh Holland.

Attention Warriors, this year’s upcoming Prom will be held at the Wildlife Experience on Saturday April 30. Prom tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria during both lunches starting on Friday April 22. The price of one ticket is $35 ahead of time and $40 at the door. Make sure to get your ticket for this year’s “moon lit serenade”.

Attention Seniors and Juniors: You have just 2 more school days to get the 2011 Prom Guest Approval Form into the Attendance office if you plan to bring a guest from another school to Prom or After Prom. These forms are due no later than Tuesday, April 26th at 3:00 p.m.

Up, Up and Away in 10 Days. Hey Arapahoe come tour the world in Hot Air Balloons in only one short night/morning at After Prom. From the Streets of Paris to the Wilds of Alaska, we will have it all for you. As always, Great Give Aways and a night to remember. Tickets will be on sale starting later this week.

Seniors, interested in speaking at graduation? Auditions take place Thursday, April 28. Sign up by April 22 at Mrs. Sisler’s desk in the Guidance Office or see Mr. Kleeman in Language Arts Office.

Want to work in the DECA Store next year? Stop by the Business office to grab an application!

Have you always wanted to use the school loud speaker? Would you like sharing the Arapahoe news for the day? If you are interested in reading the daily announcements next year, sign up for auditions in the Attendance Office with Mrs. Ayres. Auditions will be held May 4 right after school.

Juniors, this is a reminder to bring a calculator and two No.2 non-mechanical pencils for the ACT test that will be taking place next Wednesday, April 27th. If you have not yet registered for the test, you need to stop by the Guidance Office as soon as possible to do so. Room assignments are now posted in the Cafeteria. Please remember cell phones, ipods, or other electronic devices other than approved calculators are not allowed in testing rooms.

There will be a mandatory Senior Class Meeting on Wednesday, April 27, at 10:30am in the theater. Please enter through the East Entrance or Cafeteria.

Hey warriors! Did you like How to Succeed? Do you miss theater already? Well next week the company class will present the final productions of the year, All in the Timing and Marcus is Walking! The shows will be April 26th and 27th at 7:00pm! Tickets are $3.00 and will be sold in the cafeteria during both lunches starting today!

If you are interested in applying for an AP Science course, the application is online on the individual teacher's website or on the Science web page. All applications are due by Thursday April 28th to be considered for acceptance.

Athletics

The JV tennis team continued its undefeated season beating Cherokee Trail 7-3. Come out to Powell Tuesday and watch the last home match. Match time is 3:30.

Congratulations to the JV Black Boys Lacrosse team on their 14-4 win this past Wednesday vs. the Cherokee Trail Cougars! Come on out to Powell MS today at 4:30 PM and cheer our team on to another victory in a match up vs. Overland.

Your Warrior Men’s Swim and Dive Team defeated Cherokee Trail last night by a score of 143-43. The Warriors were led by Pat Austin who qualified for A-League in the 100 Backstroke. Come support your Warrior Men’s Swim team next Thursday against Smokey Hill.

The JV Black girls' lacrosse team defeated Kent 6-5 in a close and hard fought game last night! Great job ladies!

The JV White girls' lacrosse team played a great game and tied Centaurus 7-7! Great job lady warriors!

Great 2 to 1 win over Smoky Hill last night by the Varsity ABK Girls Soccer! This is the girls' second win of the week. On Tuesday they shut Mullen down 7 to 0. Come watch them take on Ft. Collins tomorrow morning at 11 am at the AHS fields. Go Warriors!

Yesterday afternoon the AHS Varsity Girls' Lacrosse team defeated the #2 ranked Kent Sun Devils 16 - 15 at Kent stadium. Congratulations, Warriors!"
