Athletics-

This past Saturday the Girls’ varsity softball team defeated Stanley Lake 1 to nothing in its quarterfinals district game. The lady warriors were lead by the shut-out pitching of Danielle Archuleta, the triple by Carly Hall and the RBI by Megan Janes. Unfortunately the team was defeated in the semifinals game, but was one of only seven teams from the Continental league to make it that far in the play-offs. Congratulations lady on having such a wonderful season. A reminder to turn in uniforms today right after school.

The boy’s varsity tennis team will be sending one player to the state tennis tournament this year.  At #1 singles, Erik Johnson survived four grueling matches last Friday at the regional tournament to take 3rd place and earn a berth to the state tournament.  Erik's last match of the day went to three sets against a tough Heritage player.  After being down, 5-2 in the third set, Erik fought back, winning the next 5 games in a row to take the match.  The number 3 doubles team of Brian Craig and Jeff Maxey took 4th place.  Congratulations guys and good luck to Erik at State.
