General Announcements

Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band who performed in yesterday’s Pikes Peak March of Champions.  Arapahoe placed 1st, and was best in every caption at the contest!  The Warrior Band also won best Drum Major and best Color Guard!!  What a terrific season this has been with the band placing no lower than second at any competition throughout the year!!!  The band would like to invite you to support them in their quest for an Arapahoe First-Ever State Marching Band Championship.  Please come out and cheer them on at Invesco Field at Mile High this Sunday!!  Arapahoe’s Semi-Finals performance time will be 3:30 or 4:00pm.  The Warrior Band will perform in Finals at approximately 9:15pm.  Good luck Warrior Band!!!!!

Thank you all for coming to the second annual teacher talent show last night.  A big congratulation goes out to Mr. Weibe and Ms. Durow from the Science department for winning the Teacher Fear Factor Challenge.

Congratulations to the following softball players for their selection to this year’s all league team: Honorable mention selection was: Carrie Rubida, Danielle Archuleta, Carly Hall, Suzanne Chang, Megan Janes and Sarah Babbitt. For only the second time in school history, a player was selected to the First Team All League and that player is Allison Braverman. Way to go ladies!


With gas prices being so high, why DRIVE IN when you can DIVE IN!  FBLA is throwing a DIVE IN movie Wednesday, October 26th.  What’s a DIVE IN movie?  Come watch Finding Nemo while floating on rafts in the school pool.  Tickets are $4 in advance or $5 at the door.  Tickets are for AHS students only and include games, movie and raft.  Tickets are limited so act fast!  Doors open at 6 for belly flop and cannonball contests, movie starts at 6:30.  DIVE IN for fun!

Seniors: If you plan on ordering graduation announcements please pick up the graduation announcement packet in the main office or at Mrs. Sisler desk in the guidance office.  Today is the last day that orders will be taken in the cafeteria during lunches.

Any Senior or Junior wishing to take college courses during the Spring semester needs to attend a required meeting with Mr. Ribelin at 12:15Pm on Wednesday, Oct 19th in the Guidance Center Conference Room to discuss application procedures. If you have any questions see your Guidance counselor.

The Colorado Med Prep/ Health occupations students of America invite you to experience the healthcare profession and hear nationally recognized speaker Shannon Pickard on Friday November 4th.  See the bulletin board in science or talk to Jaqueline Paller for more details.

Hey everyone, there’s another CSJC or community service just ‘cause meeting today in room C-19 right after school.  Since it’s a long weekend, we’re going to go to an elementary school and an animal shelter, so check your calendars to see if you can go.  Remember, it’s never too late to join!  Hope to see you there!

The boys Varsity soccer team defeated Regis last night by a score of 3 – 1. Scoring for ABK was: Keegan Bast, Chris Madigan and Jeremy Hayes. Gary Cole tallied the only assist.
