General Announcements

Even though the real election results have already been announced, we know that you are anxiously awaiting the more important results – those of the AHS Mock Election.

With about 100% of the ballots counted:
For the US House, Coffman defeated Eng 58% to 42%.
For the Senate, Shaffer defeated Udall 49% to 43%.
For the Presidency, McKinney received 1%, Nader has received 2.6% of our votes, McCain has 46%, and Obama has 47.2%.

None of the ballot measures passed at AHS. The only one that was close was Amendment 51 which would have given some additional tax money to programs for people with disabilities. Most of the ballot measure s received less than 40% of our vote.

Thanks for participating. And remember that the election isn’t the end of the game, it is only the beginning.
