General Announcements

Congratulations to the teams that competed in CSU Math Day yesterday. Both teams finished better than both Heritage and Littleton. Way to go Warriors!

FBLA this is the last week that you may sign-up for membership. You must have all of your paperwork and money in to participate in upcoming competition. Stop by the business office for forms and information. Deadline is today!

Attention all FCCLA members: If you are planning to attend districts on Friday Nov. 14th permission slips must be returned to Mrs. Rains today by the end of the day! Thanks FCCLA!

Attention all FCCLA Officers: Let’s try this one more time. Officers will meet on Monday Nov. 10th in room E3 right after school to plan the agenda for the Nov. 17th meeting!!! Be there so you don’t let your fellow officers down!!

The Toms are selling spirit pops! The Toms will be selling spirit pops today in the cafeteria during both lunches. We've been selling tons of these great tasting gourmet lollipops. They're a bargain at one for 75 cents or 2 for a dollar. Help support the Toms and get your spirit pops.

In honor of Veterans’ Day, November 11th, the Social Studies Department has invited veterans to come speak to Arapahoe students. These veterans are speaking all day long in the Forum, so if you would like to hear their stories or ask them any questions, please stop by the Forum during any of your unscheduled hours this coming Tuesday. Thank you and remember…Tuesday, November 11 is Veteran’s Day.

Salsa Night at the Rio Mexican Restaurant is this Tuesday, Nov. 11th at 7:30pm. Come join famous salsa dancers like fellow students Jordan Hunt, Justin Miller, Tyler St. Pierre and John Moore. Free Salsa lessons begin at 7:30 pm at the Rio near Park Meadows Mall. See Social Dance Instructor Mrs. Abner with any further questions.

The Third Annual Arapahoe High School Band Concerto Competition will take place in the theatre on Monday, November 17, 2008, beginning at 7 p.m. The following students are finalists and will be performing on November 17th: Vikky DeLaTorre (junior horn player); Jordan Flatt (senior clarinetist); Emily Haller (junior flute player); Emily Haskins (sophomore flute player); Nicole Jensen (senior clarinetist); Maureen Kosse (senior horn player); Wes Leffingwell (senior pianist); Kevin Matthews (junior marimba player); and Madison Munn (junior clarinetist).
The Arapahoe High School Wind Ensemble will culminate the evening by accompanying professional flute player, Claudia Anderson, on the Mike Mower “Flute Concerto.” Dr. Anderson is the flute professor at Grinnell College. In addition, Dr. Anderson is the principal flute of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony.
The judges for the 2008 Arapahoe High School Band Concerto Competition are a panel of 3 Colorado Symphony Musicians. Tickets for the Concerto Competition are just $5 and can be purchased from any of the finalists. They are also available in the Band Office at this time, and at the door, on the evening of Monday, November 17th.

Please check the Lost and Found table in the Cafeteria for any items you are missing, and the Attendance office for any small valuables.


Athletics

Congratulations to the Arapahoe High School Cheers and Toms for their outstanding performances last night at the Centennial League Spirit Championships held at Eaglecrest High School. The JV Cheers finished in 3rd place in the JV division. The Toms placed second in the highly competitive Varsity Pom division, and the Varsity Cheers captured the 2008 Centennial League Championship in the Varsity Cheer division. The Cheers and Toms would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the fans who came out to support them! Way to go Cheers and Toms!

Attention all FEMALE FALL ATHLETES: Please have your athletic locker cleared out by today @ 2:30. Winter athletes will be moving in on Monday and your lock will be cut.

Attention any athlete using a locker in the varsity boys locker room. All lockers will be cleared out today in preparation of the winter sports season. Please clean out your locker and remove the lock by 2:30 today.
