General Announcements

Congratulations to the Speech and Debate team who competed in Saturday’s Douglas County Invitational Tournament. Liana Boraas took first place in Dramatic interpretation, Amanda Noel took second place in Dramatic interpretation, and Lauren Haefliger took first place in poetic interpretation.

Attention Sophomores! We will hold our next Student Council meeting next Tuesday, November 4, at 2:30 p.m. in room C20. We hope to see you there!

Attention all FCCLA members: Anyone planning to attend districts on Nov. 14th needs to pick up permission slips from Mrs. Rains by the end of today. Also, don’t forget dues are due on today as well. Drop by Mrs. Rains’ office if you have questions.

Attention FCCLA officer team: Don’t forget your officer meeting after school today in room E2. You will be planning for the next chapter meeting on Nov. 17th . See you there officers!

For students participating in Math Day at CSU, there will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 4th at 2:30 in S-8. If you cannot attend, please see Mr. Thurmond in the math office.

Attention mathematicians who took the University of Northern Colorado Math Competition! Please see your math teacher to pick up your test. Results of top scoring students will be available before winter break.

Student Council invites you to the Remember Campaign meeting Wednesday after school in room C17. We need you there!

Come join your Link Leaders for a bouncy good time. Link Crew is planning an after school field trip for leaders and freshmen to go to JumpStreet – an indoor trampoline park – on Thursday, November 6th. Cost is $12.00 and includes admission to the park, snack and transportation. We will leave AHS at 3:00 p.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. It is first come, first served, so get your permission slips and cold, hard cash into Mr. Hawthorne in the Social Studies Department ASAP! Permission slips are due November 4th.

Please check the Lost and Found table in the Cafeteria for any items you are missing, and the Attendance office for any small valuables.


Athletics

Attention all Football players. There will be a brief meeting today at 2:30 in the Forum.

Congratulations to the Freshman Football team for their 33-13 victory over Rampart on Saturday. The victory moved the team’s season record to 7 wins and 3 Losses. Great season, men! Remember equipment check-in is today immediately after the team meeting in the forum.

All girls interested in basketball are welcome to attend Coach Burgin’s preseason camp for grades 9 through 12. The camp starts November 3rd and runs through November 11th. Juniors and Seniors will participate from 2:30 to 5:00 pm, Freshman and Sophomores from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Both camps will be held in the Main Gym.
