General Announcements
Hey Warriors! Come experience the DECA event of the year, the 2010 DIFA DECA Dodgeball Tournament. The tournament is Wednesday, Oct. 27th from 6 to 9 pm in both gyms. It only costs $2 to get in the door. So come cheer on your fellow Warriors as they compete in Arapahoe’s World Cup of Dodgeball.

Link Crew loves to have fun so we are jumping on over to Jumpstreet again. On Tuesday November 2nd, we will be traveling by district bus to Jumpstreet. The cost is $12.00. The departure time is 3:00p.m. and we will return by 6:00p.m. Please pick up all forms in the English Office today and return to them Mr. Trotter’s desk by Friday, October 29th. See you there.

STUDENTS: Picture re-take day is tomorrow, 9:00 a.m.-12:30p.m. The photographer will be located in the theater hallway. Please bring in your old picture packet to be exchanged.
Attention Drama Club: there will be a short meeting after school on Thursday, October 28 in the theater. We will discuss hoodies and give updates on Drama Club "happenings". The meeting will start promptly at 2:30. Hope to see you there!

Hey Warriors! It’s the last week for the annual broncos wives food drive. SO do not forget to bring in your non-perishable food items to the collection boxes located in every classroom. Remember that Arapahoe is known for winning. We can’t let anyone down this year!

Would you like to pay off that library fine and at the same time donate to the Bronco Wives Food Drive? Now until October 28th you will receive a 50 cent credit off your fine balance for every non perishable food donation you bring in to the library. To ensure that you receive credit toward your fine, personally hand your donation to any of the library staff. Help yourself while you help others.

“On Thursday, November 4th, Colorado State University is hosting its annual Math Day competition in Fort Collins. If you are interested in signing up to compete, see Mr. Thurmond in the Math office for more information. Space is limited to the first 10 students who sign up.”

Attention Sophomores! The PLAN test is on Saturday, November 6. This is a great way to practice for the ACT! Sign up now through November 3 in the Guidance Office.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in Post Secondary Enrollment Options for second semester the deadline is next Friday, October 29. You must see your counselor for the enrollment paperwork. Pick up your paperwork as soon as possible.

Come down to the library and guess how many Halloween candies are in the glass pumpkin! The student who comes the closest to the actual amount …. will win the jar full of candy!
The winner will be announced Friday, Oct. 29th during the daily announcements. Happy Halloween from your AHS Library Staff!

The band and color guard are selling butter braids through the end of this week. Don’t miss out! Order today….see a band member immediately!




Athletics

Any students interested in auditioning for our award winning Warrior Winter Guard? Last year the Winter Guard placed 1st in the State! This year the Winter Guard will be traveling to make their debut at Nationals Competition. The first practice and tryout for new students is Monday November 1st from 3-7pm in the Aux Gym. The rest of the calendar is available at arapahoeband.com
If you are interested please talk to Coach Bailey or Mr. Hackett in the band office!

Attention ALL girls planning to tryout for Basketball this year: the Varsity and JV pre-season camp will begin next week Monday November 1st 5:15 to 8:00. Girls planning to tryout for Sophomore/Freshmen teams your camp will begin on Wednesday November 3rd from 5:15- 8:00. Both camps will be held daily and a camp schedule will be handed out the first night of each camp.

Registration for Girls Lacrosse will be held tonight, from 7-8:30pm in the Cafeteria. Please bring all your paperwork and payment for the Spring season. There are registration packets available in the athletic office. Contact Lynn Balkenbush with any questions. bvi5@comcast.net

Hey Warriors! The Winter Sports season is just around the corner. Registration for Girls’ Swimming, Boys & Girls Basketball and Wrestling will take place beginning Tuesday, November 2nd. Make sure to stop by the Athletic Office to pick up your registration paperwork today!
