General Announcements
The event you’ve all been waiting for is FINALY here…DIFA DECA Dodgeball is tonight! The tournament starts at 6pm and will take place in both gyms. For ONLY $2 you can come support your favorite country in Arapahoe’s World Cup of Dodgeball!

Link Crew loves to have fun so we are jumping on over to Jumpstreet again. On Tuesday November 2nd, we will be traveling by district bus to Jumpstreet. The cost is $12.00. The departure time is 3:00p.m. and we will return by 6:00p.m. Please pick up all forms in the English Office today and return to them Mr. Trotter’s desk by Friday, October 29th. See you there.

Seniors: Get rewarded for the community service you’ve completed. There are scholarships for you! Stop by the Post Grad Center to pick up an application for the Prudential Spirit of Community scholarship.

Attention Drama Club: there will be a short meeting after school on Thursday, October 28 in the theater. We will discuss hoodies and give updates on Drama Club "happenings". The meeting will start promptly at 2:30. Hope to see you there!

Attention all FCCLA members:
Please come by Mrs. Rains’ office to pick up permission slips for the year. If you are planning to attend districts please let Mrs. Rains know by Thursday afternoon. Don’t forget about our pumpkin carving contest on Friday too! See you soon FCCLA!

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The 2011 trip to Washington D.C. is here again! This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand.
There will be a parent/guardian meeting for those interested in this trip on Thursday, October 28th at 6 PM in the Forum. Please feel free to join your parent or guardian, and if you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Mr. Hawthorne or Mr. Myer in the Social Studies department.

LAST CALL FOR THE BRONCOS WIVES FOOD DRIVE! Make sure that you bring in your non-perishable food items to ANY collection box located in EVERY classroom. If Arapahoe wins we will get one thousand dollars!

Would you like to pay off that library fine and at the same time donate to the Bronco Wives Food Drive? Now until October 28th you will receive a 50 cent credit off your fine balance for every non perishable food donation you bring in to the library. To ensure that you receive credit toward your fine, personally hand your donation to any of the library staff. Help yourself while you help others.

“On Thursday, November 4th, Colorado State University is hosting its annual Math Day competition in Fort Collins. If you are interested in signing up to compete, see Mr. Thurmond in the Math office for more information. Space is limited to the first 10 students who sign up.”

Attention Sophomores! The PLAN test is on Saturday, November 6. This is a great way to practice for the ACT! Sign up now through November 3 in the Guidance Office.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in Post Secondary Enrollment Options for second semester the deadline is next Friday, October 29. You must see your counselor for the enrollment paperwork. Pick up your paperwork as soon as possible.

Come down to the library and guess how many Halloween candies are in the glass pumpkin! The student who comes the closest to the actual amount …. will win the jar full of candy!
The winner will be announced Friday, Oct. 29th during the daily announcements. Happy Halloween from your AHS Library Staff!

Athletics

Are you interested in auditioning for our award winning Warrior Winter Guard? Last year the Winter Guard placed 1st in the State! This year the Winter Guard will be traveling to make their debut at Nationals Competition. The first practice and tryout for new students is Monday November 1st from 3-7pm in the Aux Gym. The rest of the calendar is available at arapahoeband.com
If you are interested please talk to Coach Bailey or Mr. Hackett in the band office!

Attention ALL girls planning to tryout for Basketball this year: the Varsity and JV pre-season camp will begin next week Monday November 1st 5:15 to 8:00. Girls planning to tryout for Sophomore/Freshmen teams your camp will begin on Wednesday November 3rd from 5:15- 8:00. Both camps will be held daily and a camp schedule will be handed out the first night of each camp.

Hey Warriors! The Winter Sports season is just around the corner. Registration for Girls’ Swimming, Boys & Girls Basketball and Wrestling will take place beginning Tuesday, November 2nd. Make sure to stop by the Athletic Office to pick up your registration paperwork today!
