General Announcements

Congratulations to the Warrior Marching Band for a great performance on Saturday night at the Arapahoe Marching Band Invitational!!!  It was a very successful event and you all did great!!!  Please come out and support the band tonight at LPS Stadium when they will be competing at the 5A Metro Regional Qualifying Festival.  Arapahoe will be performing tonight at 7:45 p.m.  The performance tonight will officially rank the band against other 5A bands in the state and determine their performance time at the State Marching Championships on October 26th.  Good luck to everyone in the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard!!!!

Congratulations to the following competitors in Saturday's Novice Speech and Debate Tournament held at Overland High School:  Addie Finch earned a superior ribbon in Original Oratory. Addie placed first in two of her three rounds. Sanat Mehta also earned a superior ribbon for winning two out of three rounds in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.  Josie Lee won an excellent ribbon for her effort in Dramatic Interpretation. The team of Brent Cary and Evan Pierpont were also presented with an excellent ribbon in Public Forum debate.

All Speech and Debate Team members should attend Tuesday's meeting and practice after school in Room C15. 

The competitive Mock Trial will be meeting this evening in Room C8 at 5:00 p.m.  All prospective members should plan on attending.

Imagine a project so captivating that you want to spend hours working on it to get it just right. If this sounds intriguing, then the Technology Student Association Club is for you!  That’s what happens when TSA members compete at the State Competition. Students work individually or as a team in such areas as agriculture and biotechnology, website design, dragster design, flight challenge, film technology, CAD with 3D modeling, desktop publishing, extemporaneous speaking, structural engineering, Fashion Design, Video, and many more. To find out more about this exciting opportunity,  please come to the first TSA meeting of the year tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15th @ 2:25- 3:00 in Room E6.  Hope to see you there!

Students, this is a reminder that the PSAT will take place this Wednesday morning. Students signed up to take this test need to arrive no later than 7:15 a.m. to report to their assigned classrooms. Please check the room assignments that are now posted in the cafeteria. The test will end at approximately 10:30 a.m. and classes will begin after lunch at 11:00 a.m. Buses will run normally in the morning and again three hours later than normal to pick up students who are not taking the test. Students who are testing should remember to bring two #2 pencils, a calculator, and I.D.

Attention artists and writers! The Muse magazine is now accepting YOUR submissions of art, poetry, and prose. The Muse is a student-run literary and arts magazine featuring the products of Arapahoe's most talented and creative students – and you don't want to miss this opportunity to be one of them! To submit, visit the Muse page under the activities tab on the school website.

The 2013 Stride is almost here! Run or Walk The Stride 5k or 10k and help support the LPS Foundation. All proceeds benefit Littleton Public Schools Foundation and the work they do supporting teachers, students, and staff. Students and staff we need your help to win the extra participation award. Hurry and get moving fast to register. Check out www.runthestride.com  or register with any Physical Education Teacher. The race is Sunday, October 27th beginning at Ketring Park @ 8:00 a.m.

Athletics

A huge shout-out to the Varsity Boys tennis team, AHS was well represented at the State Tennis Tournament! Congratulations to Nick Farmen, #1 Singles player, playing through to the semi final round!  Great tennis and an excellent season!  Way to go guys!

Lady Warrior Lacrosse Players,   It is time to register for spring lacrosse.   With our talented coaching staff and multiple teams, it will be great season.   On October 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the AHS Library, we will hold spring girls lacrosse registration.  Come join us and feel free to check out the AHS Girls Team website at  http://girls.ahslax.org   Go Warriors!
