General Announcements

ADDIE: Oh, what's in a name?  Did you know that Romeo and Juliet is coming to Arapahoe?
RICK:  The show dates are Thursday, October 24th through Saturday October 26th with all shows starting at 7:00 p.m.
ADDIE:  Tickets are $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults.

Register and Vote! It's your right. It's your voice.  Students who are 18, Election Day is fast approaching! Please come to the voter registration table during lunch today to register to vote!
Juniors, time is running out! Today is the LAST day to register for the PSAT! So bring $15.00 and your student ID to the Guidance Center and sign up for this very important test before it’s too late! Don’t forget about the math and language arts study sessions offered at 6:30 a.m. in Room S-10. The Math session will be held tomorrow, Thursday, October 10th. The language arts session will be held Friday, October 11th. Come to these sessions so you’ll be even better prepared to take the PSAT!

The first Arapahoe Herald survey of the year is out, and we want to know your views and opinions! Check your school email or the AHS homepage for a link to the anonymous survey. This month's topic is your college decisions and post-graduation plans. We want to hear from all grade levels. The survey closes today at 3 p.m.

Due to an unexpected important meeting, the first TSA Club informational meeting has been postponed until next Tuesday, October 15th in Room E6.  Please attend this meeting to find out more about this exciting competition.

It’s that time of year for eligible juniors and seniors to start applying for membership in National Honor Society!  If you are a junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, or a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, then you are eligible to apply for membership.  Eligible students should have received a letter at their home address, inviting them to join and also explaining the application process.  If your GPA makes you eligible for NHS, but you haven’t received a letter at home, please contact Mr. Smith or Ms. McGeorge in the science office.  This letter also tells you about important informational meetings going on this week.  If you are applying for membership in NHS, you must attend one of these meetings to learn about the club and the application process.  There are four meetings being held for you to choose from this week: tomorrow and Friday morning at 6:55 in Room W-103, and also tomorrow and Friday afternoon at 2:20 in Room W-103. Remember that these meetings are only for eligible juniors and seniors, so if you are unsure whether you are eligible, please contact Mr. Smith or Ms. McGeorge in the science office.

Current members of National Honor Society, we have our monthly meeting today after school in the Forum, so if you're already a member please try to attend this quick informational meeting today at 2:25.

Attention Juniors and Seniors! A representative from Arapahoe Community College will be here this Friday for anyone interested in taking Concurrent Enrollment classes for 2nd Semester. This is a great chance to receive high school and college credit. If interested, please plan on attending a short meeting during either 1st or 2nd lunch in the Forum on Friday, October 11th to receive more information and paperwork.

The 2013 Stride is almost here! Run or Walk The Stride 5k or 10k and help support the LPS Foundation. All proceeds benefit Littleton Public Schools Foundation and the work they do supporting teachers, students, and staff. Students and staff we need your help to win the extra participation award. Hurry and get moving fast to register. Check out www.runthestride.com  or register with any Physical Education Teacher. The race is Sunday, October 27th beginning at Ketring Park @ 8:00 a.m.

Athletics

Congratulations to the boys Varsity soccer team who defeated Overland last night 2 - 1 in overtime.
Join ABK Thursday when they host Mullen for their final league home game.

The boys JV soccer team defeated Overland 3-2 yesterday. Great job ABK.

Attention all girls interested in playing basketball this upcoming season. You are encouraged to attend any and all open gym opportunities between today and October 29th. Our pre-season "camp" will begin on October 30th and run through November 14th. Please check the website for the complete schedule at arapahoeladyhoops.com

"Pink Cards" for Winter Sports will be distributed in the Cafeteria today from 2:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.  Online registration must be completed and a current physical must be on file in the Athletic Office before student-athletes can receive their "Pink Card".   Registration is completed online at www.ahswarriors.org.
