Hello
Warriors! We are extremely proud to announce the names of the semi finalists
in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are
honored for their outstanding performance on the 2013 PSAT which they took last
October. The semi finalists are: Zoey Huey, Robert Mayer, and
Sanjay Patil. If you see these seniors in class or in the halls, please
congratulate them. Great job Warriors!
Seniors
. . . it's that time already! Time to order your graduation announcements!
Packets for graduation announcements are available in the Main Office and the
Guidance Office. Orders will be taken
next week so pick up your packet today!
If you or
your parents ordered pictures at schedule pick up in August, please pick them
up during lunch tomorrow, Friday, or Monday,
September 22nd on the south side of the cafeteria. Students can also check at the Attendance Office
during an unscheduled period.
Attention
all juniors and seniors. Have you taken three business classes? If
so, stop by the Business Department and pick up an application for the National
Business Honor Society! Applications are due by next Monday, September 22nd.
Lunch
today: boneless chicken wings with roll, soft beef tacos, cheeseburger, grilled
chicken breast sandwich, Bosco Sticks with marinara sauce, turkey sandwich,
sub sandwich, PB&J, and a variety of Salads with roll. Blueberry vanilla
yogurt parfait. Students who have not
turned in applications for free and reduced meals need to do so as soon as
possible. Processing takes at least two days and the cut off for approval
is September 26th. If you are not approved by then, meals will cost
$3.00 dollars until your application is processed.
Lost and Found: Beginning
tomorrow, September 19, please check the table in the cafeteria for clothing
items and the Attendance Office for smaller items. After Friday,
September, 26th all items
will be donated.
Athletics
Warrior volleyball had an impressive
showing last night at home versus Brighton. Sophomore and Freshman teams both
won in straight sets. After dropping the first set, Varsity kicked it into high
gear to pull out an impressive win. Come support your Warrior Volleyball teams
tonight at Cherry Creek. Let's outnumber their fans, and cheer the Warriors
onto victory!
The JV
Tennis Team beat Columbine 12-0 yesterday. Come over to Powell today and
support the team when they play Smoky Hill @ 3:30.
The
Varsity boys soccer team is playing Grandview today at the Arapahoe High School
soccer field at 4:30 –
come cheer them on.
There will be an AHS
Swim/Dive team meeting today after school
in the forum. We look forward to seeing you there.
The next five open gyms for boys basketball will be after
school. If you are interested in trying
out you need to register on the website, under athletics/boys basketball asap.
There will be NCAA/NAIA Compliance
Orientation on Tuesday,
September 30th during
lunches in the Forum for all Juniors and Seniors interested in competing in
athletics on the college level. For more information and to sign up for
this meeting, please stop by either the Athletic or Guidance Office.
