 General Announcements

*Attention Arapahoe students: We are hosting the annual East Elementary Food Drive.  The drive will run from Oct 24th through Nov 4th. Look for drop-off boxes throughout the school. This is a great opportunity to support one of our neighborhood schools and show our Arapahoe pride!


*Warriors - the EPIC Campus is holding the first Pathway-Specific Information Night on TONIGHT and will spotlight the Natural Resources Pathway.  Are you interested in the great outdoors?  Could you see yourself working for Colorado Parks and Wildlife? Are you interested in plant science, horticulture, or landscaping? Have you ever thought about where water comes from and how it is treated? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please join us at the Natural Resources Information meeting to learn more about this exciting pathway which will be available to students at the EPIC Campus.  See our announcement for the link to RSVP.

*Want to know more about paying for college? Come learn all about filling out FAFSA, what kind of aid is available, who should apply, and more, this Wednesday, October 26th, at 6pm in the AHS Theater!

*Seniors looking for college scholarships: If Arapahoe was overrun with zombies, how would you escape? Where would you hide, and what are the top five things you’d bring to stay alive? Submit your survival plan to the Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship committee by Halloween for a chance at a $2000 scholarship! Check out Naviance for this and more scholarship opportunities!

*Warriors, there is a free Alive@25 class Wednesday, October 26th from 3:45pm - 8:15pm in room W1874. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. If you are voluntarily taking the class, the Sheriff's Office pays your $79 fee.  If you are 15 1/2 you can get a driver's permit after taking the class. Some insurance companies give a discount on rates for taking the class. Register on-line at www.aliveat25.us and use the password ARAPAHOE.  Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.

 

Athletics

*Congrats to the Varsity Volleyball team for winning the Dakota Ridge Invitational this weekend!  The Warriors beat several top 4A and 5A opponents to take home the trophy.  Well done!  This Thursday, the Warriors will play their final home game of the season.  Please come out and join us for Senior Night at 6:30 to celebrate our five amazing ladies.

*Congratulations to the LPS Gymnastics team on their 5th place finish at league on October 19th.  Way to go!  Come support the team at Regionals on Thursday, October 27th at Overland High School. The competition starts at 4:00 pm.  The LPS Gymnastics Team is a fall sport made up of students from Arapahoe, Littleton, and Heritage High Schools! 

*Attention all Girls planning to play Basketball for AHS this winter!  We will begin our Preseason Camp tomorrow, Tuesday, October 25,  from 3:45pm-5:45pm and Wednesday, October 26, 6:00pm-8:00pm.  Both days will be in the main gym. Preseason Camp will continue the following 2 weeks - October 31st to November 4th and November 7th to November 12th.  All workouts will be at AHS. Times are still to be determined. Come out and join the most successful Basketball program in  the city and one of the most successful in the State!!! See you on Tuesday!

*Come to the Girls Swim & Dive Information meeting Wednesday, Oct. 26th 6-7:30 in the Forum.  Find out important information for the upcoming season, learn how to get registered and try on gear. *All JUNIOR AND SENIOR student-athletes interested in competing in athletics at the college level are invited to attend a free NCAA Orientation taking place on Thursday, October 27th during both lunches in the Forum.  Please stop by the Athletic Office or Counseling Department and sign up in advance to attend this orientation.  If you have any questions before the event please see Mr Wadsworth in the Counseling Department or Mr. McCabe in the Athletic Office.
