General Announcements
*Here is an important announcement for all drivers: Beginning today, the King Soopers shopping center will be strictly enforcing their no student parking policy. If you parked there, you need to move your car immediately or it will be towed.
*Attention Arapahoe students: We are hosting the annual East Elementary Food Drive. The drive will run from Oct 24th through Nov 4th. Be on the lookout for more information regarding food drop-off. This is a great opportunity to support one of our neighborhood schools and show our Arapahoe pride!
*Juniors & Seniors: Colorado State will be visiting today at 3pm in the Forum. No need to register in Naviance... just show up and learn what it takes to be a Ram! Interested in joining the Air Force? Meet with recruiters at both lunches today in the cafeteria to see if it's the right path for you.
*College Application Boot Camp returns this Wednesday at 8:30am in the forum. All are welcome, even if you haven't been to a previous session and you're just getting started on your application.
*Take advantage of Free Application Days this week, October 18th-20th, and apply to any college in Colorado FOR FREE! See instructions in your weekly message from the Post-Secondary Center, in your Tribe Google Classroom, or by scanning the QR codes posted around the building.
*Eat a Burrito for the Band! Join us at Chipotle, across from AHS, on Wednesday, October 19th from 4:00pm-8:00pm and let them know you are supporting the AHS band before paying. Chipotle will donate 33% of all sales to support Instrumental Music at Arapahoe! If you order online use code - 2G7LCH4.
*Warriors, there is a free Alive@25 class Wednesday, October 26th at 3:45pm - 8:15pm in room W1874. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. If you are voluntarily taking the class, the Sheriff's Office pays your $79 fee. If you are 15 1/2 you can get a driver's permit after taking the class. Some insurance companies give a discount on rates for taking the class. Register on-line at www.aliveat25.us and use the password ARAPAHOE. Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.
Athletics
*The Varsity Softball Team wrapped up its season this weekend at regionals. After run-ruling Heritage 10-0 to advance at regionals, they met last year's state final four team, Fossil Ridge in the state qualifying game. They ultimately fell to the Sabercats 3-2. Thank you players for an amazing season, your coaches are extremely proud of you.
*Come out and support Field Hockey tonight. Varsity will be at 6:00pm and JV is at 7:15 on the turf field. We will be hosting Kent Denver which will be an amazing game! This will be a "PINK GAME" where donations can be made for the fight to cure cancer. Go Warriors!
*Come support Arapahoe Football tonight or tomorrow at Blackjack Pizza (at the corner of Dry Creek & University). Grab a pizza for dinner and they will donate 20% of all sales from 5:00pm - 7:00pm to the Arapahoe Football program. If you order online, make sure to indicate you’re supporting Arapahoe Football.
*Join us for our last fundraiser of the season for ABK Warriors on Wednesday, October 19th from 5pm-8pm at Chick-fil-A ASPEN GROVE. Make sure to mention AHS Soccer when ordering.
*All JUNIOR AND SENIOR student-athletes interested in competing in athletics at the college level are invited to attend a free NCAA Orientation taking place on Thursday, October 27th during both lunches in the Forum. Please stop by the Athletic Office or Counseling Department and sign up in advance to attend this orientation. If you have any questions before the event please see Mr Wadsworth in the Counseling Department or Mr. McCabe in the Athletic Office.
