General Announcements

This coming Sunday, November 11th, is Veterans’ Day. In honor of the men and women who served and are currently serving in the US Armed Forces, Arapahoe will be celebrating for the next five days. Please stop by the military wall of honor in the cafeteria this week, and if you have time on Friday, come to the Forum and listen to a few veterans speak about their experiences. Thanks.

AHS is now offering wireless Internet access for personally owned devices through the LPS PODNet. This Internet access will operate Monday through Friday with the same Internet filter that school devices currently use. The only difference between school devices and your own devices is that your personal device will only be able to access the Internet, not our file servers or printers. When you access PODNet you will have to agree to some conditions – please read those conditions carefully before connecting.

Quick meeting after school TODAY at 2:15 in C-20 for Model UN Delegates for the Cherry Creek Conference to decide meeting dates this week. Please attend.

Those participating in the Spanish Club Museo Trip this Wednesday after school please stop by the Foreign Language Office ASAP for Permission Forms and see Ms. DiSepio or Ms. Johns.

Lianna Borass and Shamita Punjabi placed first in Duo Interp with Sara Zellner and Ashley Lambert placing 4th.

Lauren Haefliger placed third in Poetry Interpretation followed by Alexa Ankele.

Did you know that the Bonfils Blood Center requires 4,350 blood donors each week to meet the needs of our community? You could be one of those necessary donors by signing up for the National Honor Society Bonfils Blood Drive, which will take place on Thursday, November 8. You must be 18 years old, or 17 with a signed parent permission form, to donate. NHS volunteers will be signing up donors during both lunches beginning November 1. Watch for posters around school, or visit the National Honor Society web page on the AHS web site for more information. Make a difference by literally giving of yourself.

It is not too late to join FBLA! Come to our meeting today and sign up for competition! We will also be discussing our community service projects.

We are meeting in room S1 at 2:20.

Attention all FCCLA members.

Don’t forget our very important meeting today after school in room E2. We will be discussing our Gifts-In-A-Jar Fundraiser as well as our Adopt A Family project for the holidays. Officers will also share information from leadership training.

See you after school.
