General Announcements

Art Attack is now up in the East wing of the building and in the Library. Please check it out.  If you submitted work to the show, we will be holding a short reception tomorrow night to announce the winners in each category as well as hand out cash prizes.  The reception will start at 7:00 p.m. in the theater hallway; awards will be given at 7:30.  Please come join us, ALL ARE WELCOME!

Take a trip back to the fifties and go see this year's musical, Bye Bye Birdie! Tickets are $8.00 for students, $10.00 for adults, and are on sale at lunch in the cafeteria. The show is THIS WEEK, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Be there or be square!

Attention freshmen!  Hearing and vision testing is this week!  Testing will take place during your English class.  Please be sure to wear and/or bring your glasses or contacts to school.  Thank you!

Everyone welcome today after school to the final Club Unified meeting of the year in Room S6 from 2:30 -3:15. Fun to be had by all. Don't miss out on this great opportunity. See you today at 2:30.

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  This year’s prom is on Saturday, May 2nd at The Wildlife Experience. Tickets are already on sale online through a link found on the Arapahoe Home Page. Each upperclassman can purchase two tickets for $35 each. Tickets purchased online will be handed out starting Friday, April 24 - Thursday, April 30th with a student ID. Tickets will cost $40 per person if bought at the door the night of prom.

Prom guest forms are located in the Attendance Office.  All forms are due by Tuesday, April 28th no later than 3:00 p.m.  

Juniors and Seniors:  It’s time to vote for your 2015 prom royalty. Your classmates were nominated by the staff of AHS this year, so don’t miss your chance to have your voice heard. Log in to your Naviance account, click the “About Me” tab, and the survey is up under “Surveys to Take” on the left side of the screen. Royalty voting has started and ends tomorrow.

Are you looking to go to engineering school? Do you want to use the design process to “engineer” a part through CAD Design, Prototyping and Manufacturing? Are you interested in an engineering related field? If you will be a Junior or Senior next year and have taken Tech Studies with 9 weeks of Cad, then Engineering 1 or 2 is for you.  Engineering 1 is a Junior level class and will be offered 2nd Semester, while Engineering 2 is a Senior level class being offered 1st Semester.  Please see Mr. Loptien or Mr. McMullen about register for Engineering 1 or 2!

All students interested in taking Honors American Literature, Advanced Placement Language, or Advanced Placement Literature should attend an informational meeting at 6:45 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Room E9.  This includes those students currently in the A.P. or Honors track.  Please see your Language Arts' teachers with questions.

Auditions for the 2015 - 2016 AHS Choirs will be held April 20 - 24. Please see Ms. Parmenter in the Choir Room for details and to sign up for an audition time. We are also looking for piano accompanists for next year.


Athletics

Please congratulate our Lady Warrior girls Varsity lacrosse team for their big win Friday night against Smoky Hill High School. Great job girls!

JV girls soccer won 7-1 against Mullen last week.     Georgia Russell filled in as goalie.  She did a fantastic job. Five players scored goals - Courtney Armswood, Katheleen Fedorowicz,  Arianna Young, Katie Barnes and Macy Ziegler. Join us tomorrow at 4:30 for the Eaglecrest game.  

Coach Chris Keel and Coach Adam Schneiderman have continued leading the JV boys Black lacrosse team in an undefeated season.  This past Saturday, our JV team beat Regis in the last 18 seconds of the game for a decisive 3-2 team victory.  Come see their next game this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. vs the Regis JV Red team at Powell. 

The freshman baseball team beat Cherokee Trail last Friday afternoon 17-7.  Good luck today as you take on Grandview.

The Arapahoe boys Varsity lacrosse team had a great win over Smokey Hill Friday afternoon ... with a final score of 9-1.  All the guys showed up and did their jobs on the field.  Special shout-out to Joey Buckley and Joe Graves for a goal each, Preston Benko with an assist, Riley Moynihan and Nate Poulter who each had 4 ground balls, and Ethan Ferrie who exhibited lock down goal tending and held Smokey Hill to only one goal.  

Attention AHS baseball parents - the next AHS baseball booster meeting is set for tomorrow, April 14th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Forum.  Please plan to attend as we'll be discussing many topics, including Senior day, end-of-season banquet, summer baseball and more.  Thanks!
