General Announcements

*Starting next Monday, the Class of 2023 will kick off the annual food drive to benefit Field Elementary. Please bring non-perishables for collection from Monday the 21st through Friday, November 1st and donate them in boxes near at all the entrances. Cash donations for the drive will be accepted at the school play on opening night and at the Homecoming football game as well. Bring your items next week!

*Attention all Gifted and Talented students and students with advanced learning plans: there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 22 from 7:45 AM - 8:15 AM in room E1287. During this meeting you will receive your annual goal update, learn about G/T programming, and best of all, get a free donut! We're looking forward to checking in with you for the year. See you then!

*AHS has some amazing vocal and instrumental performers! Do you have a lesser known talent you could share? We will be hosting a final round of tryouts Tuesday morning and YOU should sign up! See the flyers around school for sign up instructions. Come be a star!

*Congratulations to the “Cars & History” class for organizing Arapahoe’s third annual fall charity car show this past Saturday. This was our best show yet with over 70 cars in attendance and the student organizers raised more than $1,100 for future car shows and Arapahoe’s Toys for Tots drive beginning in November! Way to go class and thank you to all the students and staff who attended the show.

*Those of you taking the PSAT on Wednesday, don't forget to be here by 9:10 AM.  Room assignments are now posted in the Cafeteria, Counseling Office and Library.

*Computer Science Club is meeting this Tuesday after school in room N1496 - the computer science room. Even if you have not come before, please join us to try out "Blast" an interesting game that runs on blue-tooth technology. See you there!

*Seniors! Financial Aid Information Night is tonight at 6:30 PM in the Theater. We will have a representative from a local University's Office of Financial Aid, presenting on several topics, including Freshmen Award offers, FAFSA, Scholarships, and more. Please plan to attend, and bring a parent or guardian.

*Seniors! Do you have a November 1st college application deadline? If so, blue forms are due to Mrs. Arnold in the Main Office by the end of the day today!  

*Juniors and Seniors - If you missed the 2020 Washington DC meeting and you are still interested in attending please see Ms. Winn in Social Studies to get more information and to pre-enroll.  

*Have you lost a clothing item, sunglasses, a towel or a tie? Please check the lost and found table in the cafeteria to claim your belongings. All items not claimed after Wednesday will be donated to a local charity.

Athletics    

*Huge congratulations to the Varsity Boys Tennis Team! They brought home a 2nd place finish at regionals and 9 players are headed to state on Thursday! Good luck Warriors!

*Our Field Hockey Warriors were victorious over Cheyenne Mountain on Saturday! Varsity won 2-0 and JV won 1-0! Come out and cheer on your Warriors today at our AHS turf field for our last home game and our Senior Night! Our Warriors battle Palmer Ridge -Varsity plays at 4:45 PM and JV at 6:00 PM. 

*Congrats to the Varsity softball team for their big win against Heritage on Saturday. The Warriors beat Heritage 11 to 0. The Warriors’ outstanding performance included 3 homeruns and solid pitching, which lead the team to the shutout victory.  Your Warriors finished the regular season with 20 wins and 3 losses. The team will be competing at Regionals this Saturday. Good Luck Ladies!

*Friday, the Boys Varsity Soccer Team was victorious over Mullen High School 4-1. JV beat Mullen by a score of 2-0. Nice job Warriors! Make sure you come out to the varsity field tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 for Senior Night as we celebrate the ABK seniors before their last regular season home game!

*The ABK Fresh/Soph Soccer Team plays an away game at Eaglecrest today at 4:30 PM and a home game against Cherokee Trail on Wednesday, Oct 16, at 4:15 PM.  Support your tribe to reach double digit wins on the season!

*Warrior Cross Country ended their regular season with a great showing at the Centennial League Championship. The boys team finished 2nd with a 3rd place individual finisher! The girls team finished in 1st place with a 1st place individual runner! Five of our AHS runners received 1st team all-league honors! Good luck Warrior runners at the Regional meet this Thursday! 

*There will be a brief team meeting for all cross country runners after school today in W1887. Please bring a computer and any gear that you need to check back in.

*Lady Water Warrior Divers, there will be a short mandatory meeting this Wednesday right after school at the pool regarding the upcoming season.  See you there!
