General Announcements

*Hey Warriors! You have a chance to donate to another great cause: Arapahoe Unified Basketball! They are in need of new basketball equipment. There will be a Miracle Minute during the Homecoming Assembly. Your link crew leaders will be walking around with Mason Jars for donation as well! Please bring all your spare change this week! 

*Tomorrow, AHS will host William & Mary and Savannah College of Art & Design.  Registration in Naviance has been extended until the end of the school day.

*Still not sure if TSA is for you? Please come to our TSA meeting after school on Wednesday in E1284 for a fun activity!

*Computer Science Club is meeting this Tuesday after school in room N1496 (the computer science room). Even if you haven't attended before, feel free to come join us! See you there!

*Hey warriors! On our homecoming road trip this week we have a challenge for you and a chance to win homecoming dance tickets and a Starbucks gift card. Look for the license plates in the north and south halls. Today, the first five people to find and take a selfie picture of the purple-bordered plate that says “student driver” and show it to Mrs. Rice in the library will be entered into a raffle to win hoco tickets and Starbucks. ....again you are looking for the first five to find the purple plate that says “student driver”. Bring your selfies to Mrs. Rice in the library. 

*On Saturday, "The Pride of Arapahoe" Warrior Marching Band hosted their "State Championships Celebration" in front of a crowd of family, friends, alumni, and community members performing their 2019 show - “Exploring Solitude” - for one last time due to the weather cancelation of 5A State Championships this week. Our outstanding band put on a great exhibition performance under the direction of Drum Major Kimberly Williams, with solos by Jordan Camp (flute); Ethan Rael and Wyatt Lynch (trumpet); Fayth Rice (saxophone); Maddie Farr, Joey Phillips & Sarah Woosley (percussion); Carson Wedding and Anna Ogren (color guard). The band would like to thank our outstanding staff, the band boosters, and the AHS Administration and Staff for all of their support this season.  We would also like to thank everyone who came out on Saturday and joined us in our State Championships Celebration!!!

*Hey Warriors! Need a shirt for the homecoming assembly? Don’t worry! Shirts will be available to purchase during BOTH lunches today and tomorrow. Stop by the cafeteria after school on Tuesday to decorate your shirt with LINK Crew! There will be paint and other supplies to help make your shirt stand out! Hope to see you all there!

*Juniors and Seniors - Last call for anyone interested in going on the 2020 Washington DC trip in March!!  Please see Ms. Winn in social studies to get enrolled and make your deposit by the 31st!  

*Warriors, if you want to bring a guest from another school to this year's homecoming dance, please stop by the front office to pick up a guest form. Any AHS student can bring a guest. Guest forms must be completed and turned in by this Tuesday.

*Seniors!  Do you have a November 15th college application deadline?  If so, blue forms are due by the end of the day on October 31st. Blue Forms can be turned during both lunches on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  See the counselors at the transcript table outside the bookkeeping office.

*Hey Warriors! Our 2019 Homecoming dance is happening this Saturday from 8:00 to 10:30 PM. Tickets are on sale now during both lunches, and will be on sale for $15 until Friday. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Tonight, come on out to the annual Arapahoe Homecoming Talent show to check out some awesome Warrior talent. Tickets are $5. We love seeing so many of you dressed up in your awesome beach wear. Tomorrow, don’t forget to come dressed for the slopes as our caravan heads to the mountains. 

*The Swim Waiver will be given for current AHS, HHS,LHS students at Arapahoe High School on Thursday, November 21st at 7:00 AM. The test/waiver will take approximately 1 hour. This is the only test for the 1st semester 2019 school year for current students. This is the ONLY Swim Waiver Seniors may take. If Seniors do not take and pass this test, they will be enrolled in swimming 2nd semester. Students must email Mrs. Leyden to sign up for the waiver. Space is limited. 

*Halloween is on Thursday! Grab your friends and have lunch in the cafeteria to partake in some fun Halloween games and contests. Please remember that while Halloween costumes are allowed they must be appropriate and adhere to school dress code. In addition, masks, face painting, weapons and/or any fake weapons are not allowed. Staff members will ask you to change if the costume is inappropriate.

Athletics    

*The Varsity Boys Cross Country Team finished 17th in state competition and were represented by Seniors Coel Trautman and Stephen Haysley, Juniors Blake Hansen, Cameron Perdew and Mitch Lockard, Sophomores Zac Schmitt and Isaac Peterson and alternates Finn Voss and Jayden Thulson.

*On Saturday afternoon the following Varsity Girls Cross Country Warriors represented each of you at the State 5A Cross Country Championships. Freshmen Ava Escorcia, Ava Mitchell, Emily Lamontagne, Junior Megan Bergstrom, and Seniors Kira MacGill, Rylee Aksamit and Delia Guilbert, along with alternates Naomi deRidder and Kayla Renner ran themselves ahead of three nationally ranked cross country teams and a field of talented runners to earn the first ever Championship title for Arapahoe High School. That's right, the Warrior Girls Cross Country team is the 2019 Colorado 5A Champions! Congratulations to the lady runners and to all of the cross country athletes on an amazing season. We are all so proud of you!

*Congratulations to the Varsity softball team for an outstanding season. The Lady Warriors defeated Smoky Hill 12 to 1 in the first round of the state tournament, making it to the quarter finals where they were defeated by number 3 ranked Rocky Mountain. These girls had an amazing season and put Arapahoe Softball on the map. Congrats ladies! Be proud of all that you have accomplished this year! 

*IT IS FINALLY HERE... NOPE, NOT HALLOWEEN... NOPE, NOT HOMECOMING... 
IT IS TIME FOR AHS GIRLS BASKETBALL TO GET STARTED!!! All Girls that want to join an incredible group of players and coaches and be part of the AHS Girls Basketball program please plan to attend our Girls Basketball Preseason Camp beginning next week. The 1st day of Camp is Tuesday November 5th 6:30-9:00 PM in the Main Gym and continues November 6th , 7th and 8th. Camp also continues the Week of November 11th thru the 16th. This camp will focus on skill development and training as preparation for the upcoming season.
