General Announcements

*Seniors! Financial Aid Information Night is Monday October 14th, 6:30 PM in the Theater. We will have a representative from a local University's Office of Financial Aid, presenting on several topics, including Freshmen Award offers, FAFSA, Scholarships, and more. Please plan to attend, and bring a parent or guardian.

*Hey Warriors! The 3rd Annual AHS Fall Charity Car Show is returning on Saturday, October 12th, from 9:00 AM - Noon. The show will take place in the East Parking Lot off of University, and donations will go towards ourToys for Tots! Call up your family members and bring all your friends! You don’t want to miss these sweet rides!

*Attention all students: You received an email today asking for your participation in the nomination of Homecoming royalty.  You have until 4:00 pm today to vote.

*Seniors! Do you have a November 1st college application deadline? If so, blue forms are due to Mrs. Arnold in the Main Office by the end of the day on Oct. 14th.  

*The Pride of Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band performed their 2019 show "Exploring Solitude" at the Douglas County Invitational on Saturday October 5th, earning fifth place overall and FIRST PLACE in 5A competition. Congrats to Mr. Funk, all our staff and especially our outstanding students! The Warrior Marching Band season continues, as they head into 5A Regionals, which will be Tuesday evening October 15th at LPS Stadium!

*CHIPOTLE ANYONE? Tuesday, October 8th between 5:00-9:00 grab your chipotle and tell the cashier you are there to support the Arapahoe Band! 

*Warriors, if you’d like to audition for the homecoming talent show, you still can! See fliers around the building for more info!

*The PSAT Math prep session is Thursday, October 10th from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. in room S1423. The English prep sessions are Tuesday, October 8th and Friday, October 11th from 7:30 to 8:15 AM in the tiered classroom E1287. Don’t miss out!

*Registration for the PSAT closes October 9th. Don’t wait until Wednesday to register. Please see Ms. Vail in the counseling department. Cost is $20 -cash or check only. Please bring your ID. The test will take place Wednesday, October 16th.  

*Did you know that at AHS we have 36 classified employees? This week is LPS Classified staff celebration week! Take some time to thank, say hi, and interact with our many assistants, custodians, campus supervisors, and support staff at Arapahoe. We are grateful for all their work in our school community to make it run as well as it does.

*Juniors and Seniors! Sign up in Naviance to attend these college visits on Tuesday: Carroll College, College of the Holy Cross, Denison University, Arizona State University, University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Northern Arizona University. Bring your signed pass to the visit.  

*Deputies Englert and Tipton want to remind everyone that October is safe schools month. This week has been designated safe schools week here at Arapahoe High School and they have organized several activities throughout the week. Your participation is important!!! Please keep an eye out for these activities during your lunch periods. If you participate in these activities you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win several prizes donated by local restaurants. Please speak to Deputies Englert, Tipton, or your counselor for further information.  

Athletics    

*Congratulations to your Football Warriors for winning their first conference game versus Cherokee Trail, the score was 10-7.  Come cheer them on this week at home against rival Cherry Creek, Thursday night.

*Our Field Hockey Warriors face Mountain Vista on the AHS turf field today. Varsity at 4:15 PM, JV at 5:30 PM and C Team at 6:30 PM. Be there to cheer on your Warriors!

*Your Arapahoe Boys Varsity Soccer team plays a home match this afternoon against Overland High School at 4:15 PM. JV will play Overland at 4:15 PM as well on the JV field. Come cheer your Warriors to victory!

*The ABK Fresh/Soph soccer team beat Overland 8-0. Their next game is a HOME game against Mullen on Wednesday Oct 9, at 4:15 pm.

*Attention: all girls interested in playing soccer in the spring, there will be a quick meeting this Wednesday, at 3:40 in room E1284.
