General Announcements

*Hey Warriors! The 3rd Annual AHS Fall Charity Car Show is returning on Saturday, October 12th, from 9:00 AM - Noon. The show will take place in the East Parking Lot off of University, and donations will go towards ourToys for Tots! Call up your family members and bring all your friends! You don’t want to miss these sweet rides!

*Seniors! Financial Aid Information Night is Monday October 14th, 6:30 PM in the Theater. We will have a representative from a local University's Office of Financial Aid, presenting on several topics, including Freshmen Award offers, FAFSA, Scholarships, and more. Please plan to attend, and bring a parent or guardian.

*Seniors! Do you have a November 1st college application deadline? If so, blue forms are due to Mrs. Arnold in the Main Office by the end of the day on Oct. 14th.  

*The PSAT Math prep session is Thursday, October 10th from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. in room S1423. The English prep sessions are Tuesday, October 8th and Friday, October 11th from 7:30 to 8:15 AM in the tiered classroom E1287. Don’t miss out!

*Registration for the PSAT closes October 9th. Tomorrow is the last day to register! Please see Ms. Vail in the counseling department. Cost is $20 -cash or check only. Please bring your ID. The test will take place Wednesday, October 16th.  

*Colorado Free Application Day is one week from today.  Seniors can apply for FREE to any of Colorado's public state colleges and several of the private colleges as well.  Each college has a specific set of instructions to follow in order to have the application fee waived. This information was sent to seniors on October 1st and is also on the Post Grad website.

*Tuesday, October 8 Computer Science Club meeting after school in room N1496.

*Juniors and seniors!  Register TODAY to attend the college visits on Thursday from  Miami University, Knox College, Western Colorado University, the University of Chicago, the University of Northern Colorado, and Saint Louis University.  Registration closes 24 hours prior to the visit.

*CHIPOTLE ANYONE? Tuesday, October 8th between 5:00-9:00 grab your chipotle and tell the cashier you are there to support the Arapahoe Band! 

*Did you know there are about 4 million administrative assistants and secretaries who work in the US? We are lucky to have some of the best here at AHS. This week during classified employee appreciation week, take some time to give a smile and a high five to some of our most valuable people on campus. 

*Students: Please return your Daily checked out Chromebooks, the Library is missing 30 of our 62 these Chromebooks. And… Please return the Daily checked out power cords, the Library is missing 18 of the 40 power cords available for student checkout.

*It’s time for eligible juniors and seniors to apply for membership to National Honor Society!  If you are a junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, or a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, then you are eligible to apply for membership.  If your GPA makes you eligible for NHS, but you haven't received a letter mailed to your home, please contact Ms. Bownds (N1496 - computer science room), Miss Nolan (Science Office), or Mr. Sexson (LSS Office). Come to the informational meeting today after school at 3:40 PM in W1884.  If you are applying for membership in NHS, you MUST attend a meeting to learn about the club and the application process.

*Attention All Junior and Seniors: The 2020 trip to Washington DC is here again!  This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington DC and Capitol Hill first hand.  If you are interested in learning more please come to a mandatory student/parent interest meeting on Wednesday, October 9th at 6:00 PM in the tiered classroom. Please see Ms. Winn in the social studies department if you are not able to attend.  

Athletics    

* Our Field Hockey Warriors fought hard yesterday against Mountain Vista. JV and C Team both tied 0-0 and Varsity lost 0-1. Their next game is this Saturday in Colorado Springs against Cheyenne Mountain.

*Last evening, the Boys Varsity Soccer team was victorious over Overland High School by a score of 9-2. The Junior Varsity shut out Overland 10-0. Great effort Warriors!

*Arapahoe Volleyball teams lost to Cherokee Trail. They face Cherry Creek on Thursday! Go Warriors!
