General Announcements

Attention Bowling Club Members, today’s Bowling Club has been cancelled due to a sponsor conflict.

Listen up Warriors…this is serious stuff- The Arapahoe vs. Heritage game is this Friday!  We all know we have more spirit than Heritage, so by golly LET’S SHOW IT!!  Starting today, you have the opportunity to purchase Gold and Black Mardi Gras Beads at the DECA Store!  $1.00 donation per strand with ALL PROCEEDS going towards Katrina Relief.  Stayed tuned in for future announcements regarding the student lead Katrina Relief effort next week.

Attention Arapahoe.  Today and Thursday you should be nominating your fellow classmates for Homecoming Royalty.   You will do this in your home History classes.  If you do not get a chance to vote, nomination ballots will be in the history office.  Thanks have a great day.  

If you attended Alive at 25 classes anytime last year, you need to pick up your certificate in the Attendance Office.  Most insurance companies will offer a discount for drivers with this certificate.

Tickets for the Arapahoe vs. Heritage football game will be on sale during the lunch hours today and Thursday in the cafeteria.  Tickets for students will be $3.00 and for adults $5.00.

There will be a freshman class meeting on Monday, September 19th in the forum at 2:25 p.m.  We will be discussing ideas for activities and designs for our homecoming float.  CANDY WILL BE PROVIDED!!  Also, we will need volunteers for decorating our float.
We need your ideas and opinions so please attend this meeting and make this the best freshman class ever!!

Hey everybody!  The next CSJC, or Community Service Just ’Cause meeting will be this Thursday right after school in room C-19.  It will be a short meeting because of everyone’s after school activities.  Hope to see you there!

Attention NHS members! The first meeting of the year is scheduled for today, at 2:30 p.m. in room E9 (The Tiered Classroom). All members should plan to be there!!!   Please see a NHS member if you are unable to attend.  

Attention all Habitat for Humanity members, we will have a meeting in room C-13 today after school to discuss and sign up for upcoming events. Hope to see you there!  Any questions see Mr.Kleeman.

Attention ALL WARRIORS...Link Crew is sponsoring an ALL SCHOOL Tailgate party this Friday in the West Parking Lot.  Food is 3 dollars and we will have games, face paint and entertainment to get you psyched for the Arapahoe/Heritage Football game.  Show up at 4:00 p.m.  to eat, play and cheer on the players as they leave for the game.  Busses will be available for FRESHMAN ONLY, and everyone will be responsible for their own rides home from LPS stadium.  Hope to see you there!!!
 
Attention everyone interested in the Muse, Arapahoe’s magazine for the creative arts:  We are still accepting applications for Fiction editor and committees.  Our new deadline is today by 3:00—that’s today, Wednesday the 14th.  If you are interested in a leadership opportunity, stop by Mr. Miles’ desk in the Language arts office to pick up an application.  Our next meeting has been moved to Wednesday the 21st, next week.  Mark your calendars!  See you there!  

Attention all students interested in an FCCLA Officer Position:  Please complete an officer information sheet and turn it in to Mrs. Rains by Thursday afternoon Sept. 15th (this Thursday).  If you need a sheet or have questions please see Mrs. Rains in Room E2 or E3.

College reps will be visiting Arapahoe this week:

Would you like to learn more about FCCLA?  Well here is your opportunity. Next Monday – September 19th – FCCLA will be having a free ice cream social in Room E2 at 2:25.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the “Ultimate Leadership Opportunity” at AHS.  If you would like to attend please pick up a ticket in the FCS office from Mrs. Rains or Mrs. Lewis.  You must have a ticket to attend!  See you there!

Athletics

Congratulations to the Freshman A volleyball team for their two-game victory over Littleton last night!  Come watch the Warriors take on Creek tonight at home!

The boys Varsity tennis team lost to Ponderosa last night by a score of 1-6.  Winning for the Warriors was Eric Johnson at #1 singles.  The JV team defeated Ponderosa by a score of 5-1.  Winning for the JV were:  Matt and Ryan Beckett who came back from a 3-7 deficit, to win 10-7;  Nick Sebesta and Roy Teng; Matt Shaw and Doug Bui; Matt Fons and Mick Mrozek; Luke Vogel and Daniel Curtis.  Congratulations guys.

Congratulations to golfers Steven Moore, Ben Scully, Dalton Becky, Eric Finley and Kevin Reichman who finished 2nd place at the Continental League West Division tournament a t Lone Tree.  The team was led by Steven Moore’s 75 which was the 4th best individual score.  

Congratulations to golfers Zane Nuttall, David Holtgrewe, Nick Davis and Ben Sauer who finished 3rd place out of 12  teams at Valley Country Club.  Zane Nuttall’s 74 was the 3rd best score out of 48 golfers.  

Congratulations to golfers Kyle Akright, Levi Knutson and Alex Muramoto who finished 6th out of 28 teams at Fort Morgan.  Kyle Akright’s 78 finished 13th individually out of 125 golfers.

Attention all Culture Club members we are kicking off our Annual Paper Cranes Donation charity work for the Make a Wish Foundation.  We will be having ja crash course in Origami and plenty of great food at the meeting.  This is the last chance to pay your fifteen dollars for your club T-shirt. The meeting will be held Thursday September 15th in room C-20.  

Hey Everybody!  Warriors of the Word will wear our “See you at the Pole” shirts tomorrow.  Don’t forget, we are meeting on Friday at 6:15AM in the bubble to go to Creek and breakfast.  Hope to see you there.
