General Announcements

The lost and found is over flowing!  Stop by the table at the East end of the Cafeteria to claim your lost items.  

Attention Seniors:  If you wanted to order a senior class group picture, but missed the deadline, information on how you can still order is available on the photographers website, which is www.bigclasspicture.com

Students will be in the cafeteria this week during lunches and for a while after school each day so you can pick up your DVD yearbook replacement. Please stop by the table and get yours. If you have not gotten your DVD yearbook at all, we have those also.
 
There will be a freshman class meeting today, September 19th in the forum at 2:25 p.m.  We will be discussing ideas for activities and designs for our homecoming float.  CANDY WILL BE PROVIDED!!  Also, we will need volunteers for decorating our float.  We need your ideas and opinions so please attend this meeting and make this the best freshman class ever!!

Would you like to learn more about FCCLA?  Well here is your opportunity.  FCCLA will be having a free ice cream social in Room E2 at 2:25 today.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the “Ultimate Leadership Opportunity” at AHS.  If you would like to attend please pick up a ticket in the FCS office from Mrs. Rains or Mrs. Lewis.  You must have a ticket to attend!  See you there!

Seniors: Applications for Boettcher scholarships are available in the Post Grad Center in the Guidance Office.  Apply for a Boettcher scholarship if you are in the top 5% of your graduating class, scored 1200 or higher on SAT math and reading sections combined- OR 27 or higher on the ACT, have been a resident of Colorado for at least your junior and senior years and are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Applications must be turned into Mrs. Schaff in the Guidance Office by Tuesday, October 25, 2005.  Questions? Talk to your counselor.

The Ron Brown Scholarship is available to African American Seniors.  Visit the Post Grad Center in the Guidance Office for more information.

Athletics-

After two tough weeks of play, varsity volleyball has improved their record to 7 - 4.  They beat 10th ranked Ponderosa in 5 games last Thursday.  Saturday, they played to a 1st place finish in their pool at the Eaglecrest Tournament, losing only to Grandview, last year's state champs.  Congrats on a great finish, and good luck in the second half of the season!

The boys Varsity soccer team defeated Heritage 1 – 0 Thursday night. Taylor Habig scored off an assist by Chad Whitaker. Good job ABK

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team on defeating Littleton on Friday by a score of 4 to 3. The lady warriors were lead by Allison Braverman and Suzanne Chang with three hits each and the pitching of Danielle Archuleta with 10 strike outs. Come cheer for the girls today as they take on Heritage at 4:00 at DeKovand Park.

Congratulations to the Lady Warrior sophomore volleyball team for their 1st place finish in the Heritage Tournament Saturday!  The girls crushed the competition going undefeated for the day.  Great job sophomores!
