General Announcements

Students who are participating in extracurricular activities after school should be aware that all exterior doors, except the East, West and North cafeteria doors will be locked at 3:30 pm.
All students must have their ID’s at all times during the school day and at all school events.


Attention Seniors:  If you wanted to order a senior class group picture, but missed the deadline, information on how you can still order is available on the photographers website, which is www.bigclasspicture.com


Students will be in the cafeteria this week during lunches and for a while after school each day so you can pick up your DVD yearbook replacement. Please stop by the table and get yours. If you have not gotten your DVD yearbook at all, we have those also.
 

Seniors: Applications for Boettcher scholarships are available in the Post Grad Center in the Guidance Office.  Apply for a Boettcher scholarship if you are in the top 5% of your graduating class, scored 1200 or higher on SAT math and reading sections combined- OR 27 or higher on the ACT, have been a resident of Colorado for at least your junior and senior years and are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Applications must be turned into Mrs. Schaff in the Guidance Office by Tuesday, October 25, 2005.  Questions? Talk to your counselor.


The Ron Brown Scholarship is available to African American Seniors.  Visit the Post Grad Center in the Guidance Office for more information.


College reps visiting Arapahoe this week:

Friday: University of Northern Colorado at 9:30 am in the Forum; Chapman University at 10:00; Pacific Northwest College of Art, Oregon, at 1:00 pm.

All Students interested in the Muse magazine, Arapahoe’s creative arts publication:  Thanks for making our first meeting a big success.  It’s not too late for new members to come check it out, today after school in C-17.  That’s right, we’ll have our second meeting this today.  Come meet our new editors and have some fun writing and planning for the year.  See you in C17.


Attention Warriors;
Each week the Library posts a list of people with fines and/or overdue materials. The lists will be posted on the student bulletin boards in the north and south hallways and in the library. We recommend that you check these lists frequently.


The Arapahoe Origami Club is brand new! Our first meeting is Friday after school from 2:15 - 3:00 pm in the Enrichment Room. Please see Mrs. Lobser for details.


Attention ALL Homecoming Talent Show participants.  Remember that your contracts are due today!!!
Each participant is required to turn in a contract.  Bring them to Ms. Turner in the math office by 2:30.


Student pictures have arrived! You may pick them up in E8 (across from the theater) during lunches or after school. Retakes are scheduled for Oct. 5. While you are getting pictures also be sure to pick up your replacement DVD--there is no need to return the faulty one.


The PSAT/SAT Seminar will be in room W201 and W202.


Link Crew leaders, you need to bring your two forms, pink and blue, and your money tomorrow morning to the leadership class if you signed up for laser tag.

There will be two buses for each meet—Coaches will determine team roster for each meet.


Congratulations to golfers Alex Muramoto , Kevin Reichman, Ben Sauer, Zane Nuttall, and Levi Knutson who finished 1st place in the Continental League J.V. tournament at Fitzsimons golf course.  The team was led by Alex’s 74 and Kevin’s 75.

Congratulations to golfers David Holtgrewe, Nich Davis, David Perry, Ben Sauer, Jase Adams, Scott Bullock and Kellen Gubbins who finished 1st place in the JV Championship at Wellshire golf course.  David Holtgrewe’s 70 and Nich Davis’s 73 were the lowest scores in the tournament.

The region tournament which determines who will qualify for the state championship tournament will be held Thursday at City Park.  Arapahoe will be represented by Ben Scully, Eric Finley, Dalton Becky and Steven Moore.

The boys varsity and JV tennis teams both defeated Rangeview yesterday.
The varsity won 7-0 and the JV won 3-1.  Winning for varsity were:  Eric Johnson; Eric Anderssen; Tyler Snyder; Gabe Sudduth and Kevin Law; Dan Johnson and Carl Anderssen; Jeff Maxey and Brian Craig; Eric Law and Roy Teng.  Winning for the JV were:  Grant McFarland and Daniel Curtis; Andy Dus and Andrew Morgan; Mike Shoaff and Bryan Rodman.  Congratulations guys!  The Warriors go up against Gateway and Rock Canyon on Thursday.
