General Announcements


SHARING STUDENT INFORMATION WITH MILITARY RECRUITING OFFICERS
Each fall, military recruiting officers request information from Littleton Public Schools of all 11th and 12th grade students for recruiting purposes.  Students and/or parents have the right to request that their information be withheld from release to the military.  If you DO NOT wish to have this information released to the military, please drop by the guidance office and complete the military opt-out form and return it to the guidance office.

The Arapahoe Origami Club is brand new! Our first meeting is today after school from 2:15 - 3:00 pm in the Enrichment Room. Please see Mrs. Lobser for details.

Student pictures have arrived! You may pick them up in E8 (across from the theater) during lunches or after school. Retakes are scheduled for Oct. 5. While you are getting pictures also be sure to pick up your replacement DVD--there is no need to return the faulty one.

Just a reminder to get your completed Race for the Cure registration forms back to Key Club by Monday’s meeting after school.

Good luck to all members of the Warrior Marching Band who will be competing in the Pomona Marching Festival tomorrow!  Arapahoe’s Prelims Performance Time is 2:30pm.  The top 12 bands will advance to the evening finals competition.  The festival will take place at Jeffco’s NAAC Stadium.  Good luck Warrior Marching Band!!

Montana State University: Various scholarships with admission
NROTC Scholarship for Juniors and Seniors: 100 % & stipend for over 120 colleges and universities.  Can use your freshman  year to decide if you want to join the Navy and continue scholarship.
Amigo and Amigo Transfer Scholarship: in state tuition for Colorado full-time students admitted to University of New Mexico.
Colorado Alumni Scholarship Knox College:  $1,500./year for Colorado students admitted to Knox College

Please go to the Post Graduate Center for information about a scholarship from the White Rose Scholarship Foundation.  You must have been a Colorado resident for 12 months and have financial  need.  A minimum 3.0 GPA is required, as well as evidence of community service.  The scholarships awarded last year were for $2,000.

Congratulations to the following Arapahoe High School 2005 graduates who received National Advanced Placement Scholar Awards for receiving a grade of at least 4.0 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 4.0 or higher on eight or more of these exams.  This signifies outstanding academic performance.  Charles Ellison, Ian Hamilton, Kelly Littlepage, William Shuck, and Taylor Stayton.   
Arapahoe High School's faculty is exceptionally proud of these students' accomplishments.

There will be two buses for each meet—Coaches will determine team roster for each meet.

Attention all Girls Lacrosse Players:  There is a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, September 27 for all players and their parents.  The meeting will be at 7:00 in the Forum.  Come get your registration and uniform information and hear the Coach's outlook and plans for the coming season.

Congratulations to golfers Eric Finley, Steven Moore, Ben Scully and Dalton Becky who finished 2nd place out of 14 teams at the Metro East Regional at City Park.  All four qualified for the State Championship Tournament.

Congratulations to golfers Eric Finley, Ben Scully, Kyle Alright, Dalton Becky and Alex Muramoto who finished 1st place in the HAL Cup City Championship Tournament at Columbine C.C.

The boys varsity tennis team defeated Rock Canyon last night by a score of 6-1.  Winning for the varsity were:  Erik Johnson; Tyler Snyder; Gabe Sudduth and Kevin Law.  Dan Johnson and Carl Anderssen; Brian Craig and Jeff Maxey; Matt and Ryan Beckett.  The varsity plays Littleton next Tuesday here at AHS, come out and support your tennis team.

The boys JV tennis team defeated Gateway yesterday by a score of 6-1.
Winning for the JV were:  Roy Teng; Matt Shaw; Jeff Gunnell and Alex Henze;  Doug Bui and Matt Fons; Grant McFarland and Mick Mrozek; Luke Vogel and Alex Stinson.  Congratulations guys!  The JV team plays at Littleton next Tuesday, hope to see you there!


Attention all Wild Warrior Women!  You must bring $10.00 for the homecoming shirts no later then Monday.  Please put money in the envelope on Miss McBride’s desk in the social studies office or give Amy Lundwall or Barbara Petersen.  There will be a quick meeting Monday, September 26, right after school at 2:20 in room N6 to finalize plans for decorating for homecoming.  It’s still not too late to sign up!  Please plan to attend.


Varsity Volleyball improved to 8-4 overall with a win last night against Thunder Ridge.  The Warriors won in 4 games, and had great net play from Lauren Craig.  Great job, good luck next week against Mountain Vista and Chapparal.

Congratulations to the sophomore Volleyball team for their big win over Thunder Ridge last night!  The girls dominated the Grizzlies in two games and ran an awesome push.  Way to go Warriors!
